Hey there, I've also been watching this thread since its beginning. I played alpha a while ago and liked it very much, but currently I don't have much in mind to say, except that it seems like coming along nicely. I hope you don't get discouraged, I'm sure there are more lurkers like us checking and waiting this game

I played and liked the first one too! I wasn't much good at it, but I remember playing it for the atmosphere.
I remember noticing troll's face and finding it weird back then. On one hand you have cool & mystic day/night moments, slowly moving people and an amazing atmosphere with cool music, on the other hand that troll... It feels a bit arcade-y and out of place for me. But I definitely like that jerky arm animation.

To add to the ongoing list... There is also Antichamber, kind of similar to Starseed Pilgrim, in sense of the game itself revolves around paying attention to the reactions of the game world and discovering the hidden mechanics.

yisss amiga bro I think I'm more inspired by games of that era simply because I could potentially make them, where as something like Journey I have no hope of ever visually equalling Huhoh glad to see I'm not alone mate That feeling is one huge motivation for me too, knowing you can create something like that working one man (or only with some friends). Probably will sound like a stuck-in-nostalgia guy but I also like the serene feeling of amiga era games (this is even present when you play a seemingly cheesy shooter or hack'n slash). They're like mysterious magic boxes to discover just by yourself, not much tutorial noise to kill your suspension of disbelief, there is not always music on everywhere etc. Ha, your freeware stuff is really cool by the way! nom nom nom

Another old-era pc guy here. I never owned a console except a ps2 that I bought 2-3 years ago, so my favorites are mostly from amiga/dos era. Funnily I had a list for this I made years ago (around the time I started to make games) to entertain myself:
Another world Alien Breed Civilization Syndicate Daggerfall Moonstone Hired guns Eye of the beholder 1/2 Golden axe Ecstatica Lemmings Pizza tycoon Simcity 1 Prince of persia Lotus 3 Test Drive 2/3 (that awkward transition to 3d) f-29 retaliator Universal warrior Walker Disposable hero Dungeon keeper Commander Keen series Cannon fodder Alley Cat A Nightmare on Elm Street
Probably there is more but I don't remember now. I also liked point&click adventure games because of their atmosphere but I was really really bad at them.

Great to see you are making a game with the style that you were using in Century. I was following it's devlog and was sad when updates stopped later on. Anyway, I like shooters so I am excited anyway. Those follower enemies can be impossible to kill , but I can see this game being really addictive.

Hi everyone, My name is Umut, I've been making flash games for 5 years. Feel free to check them at my signature. I am a long time lurker here, I was keeping myself away from writing on forums since I know my tendency to procrastinate. While it somehow worked for the past years, now it feels a bit isolated and lonely to continue like that. I am no fan of self-introductions, so I hope this one counts
