Well, that was a huge disappointment; it doesn't run.

I mean, it doesn't even TRY to run. This is weird.

WOAH! Looks schweeeeeaaaat!!  My Word!

I'm also very interested in the Pixel House project and the ninja-thingy! Please keep up the good work! Grin

Now, that's an entirely different story.  Smiley Should have said that right in the first post.. asking people to contribute to getting quality art for a freeware game that everyone can enjoy is a heck of a lot different from asking for funds for a commercial project which will profit you directly.

This.

I'm sorry for my harsh comment earlier; I was under the impression that you begging for money to fund a comercial project (as it seems is common on 8bitfunding). This is something entirely different, and I support it :]

That said, I also like the content I've seen so far. I really like the Touhou-like platforming gameplay. I'd suggest some death animations, though ;p

Uh. I'm afraid I have to agree with most other people here on tigsource; I find this unnecessary begging a bit repulsive.
I would be able to understand it if you somehow REQUIRED money to release something that is basically finished, without selling out to some big company, but this is not the case for the "games" on 8bitfunding. Most seem less ambitious than most of the free (and often open sourced) projects on this site.

If you had something to present, though, like a playable and constantly updated alpha/beta build I could understand that you'd start selling the product before it's finished (like Minecraft, Overgrowth, Miner Wars, Silas, Cortex Command, etc.), but begging for money to make a game almost from scratch..., that's just not very nice.

A couple of suggestions:

We Want YOU stage (scrolling forever downwards, tilesets changing as time passes; has weapon pickups that can destroy terrain, flamethrowers and health tents)

Super Meatboy stage (sick amounts of saws that instakill any character)

I also feel that there ought to be some content from Teknopants' games, but can't really decide upon what would fit.

勇: cheer up! (small)

為: try! (medium)

勝: victory! (large)

曹: friend! (rescue)

Well, it doesn't really matter (as it looks cool anyway), but here is my interpretation:

勇: cheer up! Courage

為: try! Advantage/Benefit[to do something to benefit something]

勝: victory! ☆/win

曹: friend! Military title [曹司=cadet, 曹長=master sergeant]

Alternatively, you could use these:

気: Health, Power, Vigour (from "お元気に", an expression meaning "take care")

試: Trial [/experiment] (there is no kanji for "try", as "to try" is "やってみる")

友: Friend, Companion, Pal (usually 友達)

Anyroads, great game, and sorry for nit-picking Roll Eyes

This game is REALLY good! :D
I love the engrish!

...But..., I doubt the japrish is intentional?
In the original thread you made a post with what you call "kanji", but kanji is a japanase word, and those signs don't mean what you claim they mean in Japanese (except from "kachi" [win/victory]). Maybe you've got them mixed up with chinese?

Embarrassing! Link is fixed.

Nope. The link to the original thread isn't correctly formatted.

a watermill would seem to be the obvious choice, a block that allowed water to flow through it, and powered redstone, but for longer distances than torches...
This could open for SO many more possibilities! :D
If you incorporate river-systems into your constructions it will add a whole new layer of depth to building stuff in Minecraft! I really like the idea of having a water mill-block under railways to power carts, too! Grin Hand Thumbs Up Right

Guys just read the  first post again and everything will become clear. Trust me.
No.
The trailer still lacks music. It's not even a teaser when it doesn't show anything of the product you're trying to advertise.
Please let me hear some of it, though; I'm genuinely interested in this.
256  Community / Townhall / Re: "Ultra Pack" - A Tribute to 5 Awesome Indie Games Released! on: December 31, 2010, 03:49:15 AM
I already tried that.
It doesn't seem to make any sense, but for some reason I'm able to access your blog through the neighbour's unguarded network, but not through my own router...  Crazy

Have to agree with ANtY that the trailer doesn't show ANYTHING, though. I wanted to see the trailer to hear tidbits of what the music was like, but it was just pictures of wolves to some background howling.
Couldn't see any demo-links.

Merry christmas everyone!:D
