The question is, is this true? data showed that it's mostly people with more 55k$ who voted trump over clinton, aka comfortable or rich ... It sound like a diversion away from the "elite" demographic yet again, they always find someone to blame to control the narrative ...
Data also showed that the rich shifted left, and poor shifted right (among whites.) The change from year to year matters a lot more than the absolute numbers.

I don't get why people take this so seriously to be honest.
Yep, people think USA is a totalitarian state, where Trump will subjugate whomever he wants. Still, come on over to the Old World if you fear the new prez. dude, there's a supreme court opening, and the senate and house all went red. Save filibuster, the least effective and most damaging check & balance tool, this is a totalitarian state, for at least 4 years.

yeah my speculation about resolution has to do with battery life.
Wouldn't basically every game be harshly fillrate bound due to the power and heat constraints on the gpu? Wouldn't you be able to alleviate that significantly by either
a- plugging into an alternate power source
b- significantly lowering your render resolution?

If anything, the dock upgrade probably just renders at a higher res due to AC power and maybe a little more graphics power for higher fps, better AA, etc. It would be pretty ludicrous to expect totally different effects, models, etc on mobile.

While those spec are loosely probable, let's not forget the bulky dock, I doubt it's just a TV plug with that size.
The shield tv, which is about the same size (?), and the same cpu/gpu, has almost the exact same specs.

We should expect mobile devs will though, if there's a market, for the opposite reason.

is plausible -- on paper thats an nvidia shield tv, with the newest architecture, which is exactly what nvidia claimed. on paper it is not at all impressive, but who knows how useful that new architecture is until its released and benchmarked?

I just really don't want to contribute to the earnings report that says the nvidia shield was a huge success.

flashcards for games is a very good idea. SSD style loading times will be a huge edge over disc based games (without installs.)
If the footage is real, it looks pretty powerful -- more than wiiu, less than xbox 1 and ps4. That's more than enough to handle a lot of really good experiences _if_ developers support it. The lack of any really good looking games aside from botw and the new mario is disheartening, since nintendo (and their art style) is really good at dazzling looking games on relatively lower end hardware. However, if you look at this in comparison to the mobile space (high end tablets, and the 3ds) it's astonishing. That's probably what they're going to be pushing with marketing. If a big mobile game property comes out with a special edition of a popular 'casual' property with way better graphics and performance on the switch, plus very good madden/2k ports and nintendo kid friendly 1st party, I wonder if we could see wii style market domination again. On paper it sounds super good for nintendo.
edit: also, splatoon is not gonna be an esport.

My work provided me a vive, cause I was the only 3d artist and needed to be able to check things out. I HIGHLY recommend not buying one if you dont have one, althought the experience is very cool and you should check it out if it's ever demo'd near you. Vr presents some deep fundamental challenges to game design (it takes a lot of setup, it's draining to play, and you can't really handle a lot of traditional uses of level design,) and many developers don't come from a good game design background, and instead use ludicrous gimmicky conventions in place of good design. With these two factors together, most games are alternatively cumbersome or floaty, and very few games are interesting for more than ~5 minutes. From what there is: - Budget cuts demo is very good.
- Valve's The Lab demos are still the most polished & best vive experiences.
- Fantastic contraption is probably the best full game that I've played
- 5089 is the most interesting super bad taste fusion of traditional game mechanics and VR (play it with the alternate control scheme where touch pad movesyou, if you ever get it on a deep sale)
- Tilt brush is a must play, of course.
- I still havent played job simulator, since I'm loathe to spend money on awful games that feel physically uncomfortable.
also, I worked on quarterback snap, which is a fundamentally bad game that we jammed some pretty nice 'gamefeel' into. worth playing very briefly if the price ever drops to like $1.99

I cant imagine how anyone thinks its at all interesting that 'procedural planets' hand populated and tweaked by skilled level designers look good. I get how star citizen gets their hardcore fanbase to care, but that's just regular videogames.
