I would suggest trying to do it in 3D. Making half-decent 3D models is a lot easier than making half decent sprite art.
I would rather suggest him something like shining force or Fire Emblem

Somehow Anim8or (well you hate me  ..) or any 3d modeling doesn't click to me or the 3d design process doesn't feel right since I've spend so many time on codes.  anyone who can recommend me or have experience with 3d artist?

oh everything that doesn't come in the latest android version is deprecated even though the recommended methods don't work with half the devices and the new methods is 2-10 times the learning curve the old ones. but it's GOOD PRACTICE
care to share what's deprecated? since I only concentrate on 4.0/4.1 I hope it doesn't change too much of how things work

loving something (even thou you hate the interface)  Microsoft didn't come out on top in the OS wars because of the end-users flocking to them. They did it because the developers flocked to them. The end-users simply followed where all the software was. Indeed, good example is iPhone, even thou it's a close system but it was also the only one available for a long time But anyway Time will tell  how Google play, Steam or even Ubuntu market will do.

the more you think about win 8.. You gonna need an official MS developers license to develop games/apps on Windows8/xBox and you can only do that with Official MS tools the same will be for browsers where IE is standard
well lucky for me. I've migrated to Lunix a long time ago

-Wall.. nostalgic, I've haven't touch the Borland C++ compilers 5.5 in years anyway. thanks to Valgrind I've found some bugs, pointers that can cause bugs, and uninitialized variables can cause bugs, also bugs in SDL that hides in linux  also even the old tga codes from Nehe or Gametutorials have uninitialized variables bugs

^ Actually they are cutting Windows legs off with a rusty saw so that it's Xbox brethren can runs faster then their Windows counterpart.

I hate windows, but let's be honest, linux sucks. I have more faith in the Amiga OS rising like a fucking phenix, than of me ever installing linux
saying that linux sucks but have faith in Amiga...  and also Tumetsu. IMHO Photoshop is too BLOATED Gimp is way better then Bloatoshop. bloat is not a real argument you neckbeard-rhetoric spouting sack of diarrhea, it doesn't actually mean anything. calling me neckbeard...that's a first time.

TL;DR other ppl post. so if you want to improve framerates.. 1. Draw every cubes using one Opengl call glDrawArray/glDrawElements 2. Don't use opengl matrix like Push/Popmatrix instead use custom matrix mathematics instead multiply the polycounts with the matrix and then shove it within the arrays. and good luck
