You ever made a pixel landscape? It'd be nice to see em.
202  Hidden / Unpaid Work / Small amount of pixel art wanted for website on: July 07, 2013, 02:24:39 AM
Hey!

So at the moment I'm working on my new site protochip.net. It's a site deticated for helping indie devs create microsites, and hosting them. I also make microsites at request (though this is subject to my availability). All tutorials are WIP. But this is geared towards microsites.

There is placeholder art on the site at the moment.

The art I need:
  • header art (where at the moment it's got a guy at a spaceship control panel).
    dimensions: 520x260px
ideally itd be kinda spacey like the current one, it doesnt need to be personalised to protochip, just be some nice art that i have permission to use.
also i'd love it were a gif like the current one, with some blinky lights etc.
  • some breaking art. at the moment i have the fez things which i made myself. it might be nice to have multiple, one for every big indie game character? or something cool like that. maybe something totally different, like a cat. also the lines on the side are up for changing if you have a good idea.
dimensions: 500x80 (or smaller in height, but 500 width is a requirement)
  • list item art. at the moment you can see (if youre on firefox) that i have a little lightning bolt. again i dont mind what goes here, maybe even some kind of gif, but it needs to be small.
  • a favicon (not sure what i want for it... sorry) - maybe the same thing that's used as the list item art? idk..

I can't offer you money, but I can offer credit on the site, and hosting if you have something you want hosted. (currently im on a free host but once it gets up and going and i have more requests ill upgrade).

Email me here
or post underneath VVV
or PM me.

sent this to a friend, was talking to him on skype while he was playing. think he found a bug: if you walk past a cat in terms of your x it will trigger it -- he was a platform below a cat, and walked under it, and it locked onto him and exploded.

fun team comp

fun team comp = troll team comp ?

played an ignite barrier soraka support with pure ap runes/masteries yesterday and went for the lvl 1 destruciton (as inspired by a reddit thread). failed the level 1 but played like we didnt and still dominated because they just got scared of me maxing starcall and basing early for a chain vest :D ended up winning.

followed that up by a nidalee soraka bot lane... was horrible at early levels as we had no dmg or defense (i got instagibbed 1 or 2 times). then nid got dmg and could 2 hit their adc :D another win.

was feeling particularly adventerous and went for a 'drug' lane. teemo ap carry, maokai second ap carry. both bot lane. sat in the bush, took mushrooms and weed all day. was so high.
then again we were against a leona graves who just destroyed us so damn fast....

breaking the meta 2 tuf.

Hey guys.. i'm looking to start watching anime and have a list of a few that i've been recommended from all sides, but was just wondering is there an anime with the kind of artwork like this:

http://i.imgur.com/tcjGI5z.jpg

... maybe this is a lot of animes, a few names would be nice :D i just love that style..

and for anyone who's interested, the art is from Supergiant's Transistor

The rain sound is really offputting, how it starts and stops.

Otherwise it's relaxing

Sometimes ezreal jungle. Sometimes weird duo bot, e.g. Soraka + Nidalee, Brand + Annie
209  Player / Games / Re: League of Legends on: June 07, 2013, 04:08:44 AM
Actually it gets mixed up a lot, in my opinion.

Oh okay, right. I will keep that in mind
211  Developer / Workshop / Re: Learning to draw (im really crap so this will be a long one) on: June 05, 2013, 01:50:33 PM
Ah okay I will definitely get doing those.

I'm not asking to be able to do this now but for future reference, this art is amazing.

silver but dont play ranked either, i like competitive games but cant be bothered with the flaming a lot of the time (though i guess from time to time im guilty of it i try not to)
213  Player / Games / Re: League of Legends on: June 04, 2013, 12:50:48 AM
Eh I don't like Janna. As someone who mains support she's not got a lot to offer in my opinion. [maybe i just cant get into her but this is what i think]. She is really weak in lane, as she offers little harras and is very squishy, you'll just get melted if you try to poke. Her tornado is easy to see and dodge in lane and so can only offer something if they engage on you and you want to stop them.
Against someone like leona youre done for  because of the engage. On the other end of the spectrum against someone like lulu you're done for because of the harrass.

When it comes to team fights the tornados can be strong, and her disengage and reengage is good. But she can't catch people out well. And loads of supports offer much better team fights (leona aoe cc and hard peel, thresh hard peel and cc, lulu ult) and have the ability to catch people out (blitz thresh leona for starters).

I know I totally agree, I just think it's one of the better ways of getting a good concept of level, and the abilities of people at that level.
215  Player / Games / Re: League of Legends on: May 31, 2013, 02:31:23 AM
Eh quite a few are best with ghost ^ you're still at that level where you dont get a jungler, right?
216  Player / Games / Re: League of Legends on: May 30, 2013, 09:29:10 AM
What level ? Once you get to 30 things are so much more enjoyable
217  Developer / Workshop / Re: Learning to draw (im really crap so this will be a long one) on: May 29, 2013, 01:29:40 AM
PS
(but for the first one i used the pen tool, second one i used a few brushs).

Ah okay I will check that out.. Normally when I draw I rotate my paper because that's how I'm more comfortable. In this I don't really get the chance so that's why it'd come out slanted.

Alright I won't draw clothes for a bit and will do hands ^ (oh god i hate hands so much the next few posts will look so retarded).
218  Developer / Workshop / Learning to draw (im really crap so this will be a long one) on: May 28, 2013, 02:22:38 AM
Hey so I can generally draw landscapes and stuff on paper but I'm real bad with people... And recently I got a drawing tablet so I figured I'd learn... All feedback and links to tutorials are very appreciated :D

Here's the first piece I did. I had a reference for this but I lost it..
I really don't like it but that's okay cos I'm sure I'm going to get that a lot for a bit. Proportions of her body are off, I used the wrong tool for the outline. I don't mind the hair too much.. ish.

And here's the next thing I did, this is a piece of fan art for the game Jack The Reaper. This (in my opinion) is a step up from my last thing, and I didn't have a reference for this... Not too happy with the legs or the arms, but the body I felt was better. And I think I captured Jack's hood decently. He's meant to be getting shot but it was like 1 am so I didn't bother to put in bullets and just finished up.

If you're just getting into tablet drawing, my best advice is to try and draw from a model or photograph first. It's much easier to focus on technique when you don't have to worry about design.

Yeah that's what I tried the night before, though still found it hard to get proportions right.. Practice is all it is :D
220  Community / DevLogs / Re: Jack the Reaper - SNES-inspired platformer on: May 27, 2013, 03:12:25 PM
Watched GFTL's video of this today and was talking to him about it while practicing on my drawing tablet, so figured i'd do a drawing of it :D fan art? mebe.

feedback VERY VERY appreciated, this is like my 2nd drawing with this thing.

oh and he's meant to be falling over dying but i wasnt sure what to do to add bullets or something, it got pretty late.

EDIT: feedback not appreciated in this thread to avoid spam Tongue if you wanna help me, PM or something Smiley
