1  Hidden / Unpaid Work / Need Interns For Minecraft Inspired MMO on: May 29, 2012, 11:25:12 PM
We are a Santa Monica studio looking for summer interns.  Interns can work remotely or local.

We are looking for one, possibly two additional programmers.

The ideal person would one or more of the following skills:
- C/C++/C# experience
- experience with lua and glsl
- experience developing 3d games
- experience developing networked games
- a good understanding of game design
- a desire to innovate on the core minecraft game experience

We have projects ranging from implementing core gameplay mechanics such as equipment and farming, to infrastructure work such as supporting FBX model and animation loading and Awesonium integration.

We also have positions for concept art, 3d modeling, rigging and animation.

We also have a guild/social API under development



The ideal person for this would have experience with
- Python
- Flask
- HTML/CSS/Javascript
- twitter/facebook API

Most of the backend is implemented and we have HTML/CSS mockups and web-designer who is good with HTML/Javascript but who cannot implement the backend.

This game is a cross between Mech Warrior, Minecraft and Tribes. 

We need someone who can define the game's art style.

Voxel Model Work:

Robots, soldiers, weapons, turrets, gunships.

We need someone who can create voxel models which define the art style and setting of the game.

Terrain Texture Work:

We need a consistant and interesting art style for terrain.  It should not look too much like minecraft.

We want terrain textures which reflect a futuristic and alien setting.  Lava worlds, astroids and other hostile non-earth settings.

Each terrain tile is a 32x32 png with 4 channels (rgba).  The engine includes the ability of defining a color pallete for each tile type and which introduces color variation for each tile.
