Thanks for the advise. I will keep that in mind as I work through the story.

Thanks for the input and yes this is a serious game. No the catch is not that his love is dead. The catch is that he himself is in a coma and everything he is doing is in his head. In order to get back to his love, he must repair the damaged memories of his mind to free himself from hiscoma.
I've gotten a lot of feedback from others not on tigsource and the general consensus was the same, a different voice actor is needed. The trailer isn't the best, but I'm working the best I can with the time and tools I've got.

A few months ago, I posted a demo of my games prototype and got some feedback on it. I have since revised my games look and game play. Please, let me know what you think from the pictures and the trailer. Sorry for the lack of demo, I haven’t gotten that far yet.

Well thanks, again to harkme for replying to my inquiry. I have decided after much thought  to continue work on the game, this game is my first title and yes, it may be a mountain of work to do for a first timer, but I am too invested in this project to just sit back and let it collect dust. I will start from scratch with the same concept. A man trying to get out of his coma stricken mind. But with different more focused mechanics. I see what some of the flaws were in games, mechanics that were for the most part all over the place. I will post more screens and progress reports in the near future. This game will see light, just not anytime soon.
I will be back. Noir Gentleman

Thank you for the feedback. I had thought about that very same thing. Perhaps I should shelve the game for the time being and work on my simple platformer Journey To The Center. I read that some indie developers like Brendon Chung went through similar situations like this. Thanks again for the input.

                                                            A Tale of Love.

Does this work as a game title?

Hello everyone, I've finally worked up enough nerve to post my games prototype to see what the indie games community thinks of it. The game is called Where Are You? It was an entry in the last IGF.  To be honest the game was created as a challenge to enter the IGF, it took me 7 weeks to build the demo that I submitted. Recently I've wanted to pull the game out of prototype stage, but before doing so, I thought it might be good to see what others thought of it first. I started an IndieGoGo campaign for the games, but what I really should have done was asked members here at tigsouce about what they think.

So here I am writing, and hoping that someone here, will give me the time of day and answer some questions about what I've created.
First, I want to know if it is enjoyable to play, or if it has potential. One the flip side if the game is crap I want to know as well. This is my first game and so there is alot of stuff I still don't know.

The demo can be found here: http://www.mediafire.com/?6j4ueob7v5ti5ki

Just extract the rar fall into any directory and run the exe.

Minimum requirements are 2.0Ghz P4 and 1GB ram

Please note the controls in the beginning of the game as after that there is no controls map.

I hope you enjoy the demo and please leave your comments about what you thought.

If you like it please support my project. Thank you for your time.

Well I'm not running a Kickstarter campaign, but I am running an IndieGoGo campaign. (This is mainly due to the fact that I am a one man team, working in Japan.) This thread has be very helpful, and I shall keep updating my campaign. If anyone has any suggestions for my campaign feel free to PM me.

14  Community / Townhall / tug of war on: March 23, 2012, 03:57:35 AM

Hello, My name is Eric Wuss Gentleman , I'm relatively new the the indie games scene. I run a very small indie games studio, called Red Sun Games, out here in beautiful Japan. If you want to check it out take a look here http://redsungames.blogspot.jp/

I was a participant in the 2012 IGF with my first game concept, called Where Are You? If you want to see the rough Alpha demo it's available on my website. The game itself took me just under 7 weeks to build... Anyway, where are my manners, I should continue with my intro.

So I am a 27 year old High School teacher, who has been devoting his time to his family (wife and two kiddies) and game making. Been learning about game design since early last year. I must also note, that I have been a gamer since the age of 7, when I was given a Gameboy and a Super Nintendo for Christmas. My very first, Computer gaming experience started on our families Commodore64, god I miss Amnesia and Bionic Commando.
Now between family, developing games and teaching, it's become a tug of war over who gets more time. It truly is the ultimate question, for gamers/devs with a family and another jobs. How do you find a balance between Work, Family and Games/Dev?

If you like what you see on my website let me know here or my e-mail: [email protected]
I am always happy to hear others opinions of the game, be it good or bad. Thanks for your time.
