Re-reading The Call of Cthulhu by H.P. Lovecraft for the n`th time. My personal favorite author. I`d love to some day turn his works into literary based short games. Or more interactive-experiences then a `game` I suppose.

On that note, I have listened to In the Aeroplane Over the Sea by NMH every day multiple times for the past half year. I do not see this trend stopping.
I'm still looking for a lady to feed me tomatoes and radio wires...

What everyone here is saying about vocoders is true, but there's another little trick. Feeding a voice through a really short delay (we're talking about 1-50 milliseconds here) with high feedback creates a nice "metallic" effect. In fact, it's the typical "robot voice" sound of yore. You can adjust the pitch of the metallic sound by fiddling around with the delay time and the "strength" of the effect via the feedback value. Audacity should be able to do this "out of the box" Ah good idea! I wasn't even thinking of that. That's a good trick!

It's all about Vocoders. Find the right plugin for Audacity and away you go. With a Vocoder you can limit the note of the processed signal to a certain key, or have it change to different keys however. Most people do this sort of thing with hardware, a mic connected to something like a MicroKorg synth then use the keys on the synth to control the notes the microphone is reading.
I haven't played with VST Vocoders myself as I have access to a hardware Vocoder (Koass Pad). But look into them and I'm sure you'll achieve what you're looking for.

Wham City rocks, I love that track! Isn't that also the name of his art collective?
Why yes it is. Dan Deacon is amazing. Bromst was a great album too. While not as catchy as Spiderman and the Secret Rings, in other ways its a much more mature and together album.

Thanks guys. By all means Cerogravian, this thread can become yours tomorrow To chime in on my own question, I'm going to have to say either Jade from Beyond Good and Evil, or Alyx from HL2. Or both. Because you know... its my birthday.

And on this fine 26th trip around the sun I'd like to reach out to my fine friends of TIGsource and ask this...
If you could have any video game character jump out of a cake and give you a sexy show, who would you pick?
Also, any advice for surviving in a world post ones 26th year??
Discuss.

Bye.
Bye bye. I thought FFXIII was actually looking not to bad. Haven't really gotten into one of them since 8, but I was thinking of giving this one a go actually.
