Shin Megami Tensei for iOS, Endless Ocean: Blue World, Sonic Adventure 2: Battle, Super Mario Galaxy, Radical Fishing, Glorkian Warrior. Endless Ocean is surprisingly great. Sonic Adventure 2 is surprisingly bad.

Sweet man, definitely go play Papers, Please. That'll really show you how to do a game like this right. I'm not saying copy it, but there is a lot to learn from Papers, Please.
I have heard of it, but on your recommendation I just watched a Let's Play of it. Oh man, that game looks pretty amazing! I have to buy it! This is genius. I checked out the Google Drive docs, planned out very well. If you'd be looking for an artist, let me know !
Thanks! I am planning on doing the graphics, but I might need help programming it.

I've been making a tele-donation phone operator simulation. The player goes through all of the randomly shuffled call cards and attempts to get pledges from the potential benefactors. The player does this through a time based system of branching dialogue based on a telemarketer's comeback list. I am focusing on accuracy of the mechanics as a representation of how telemarketing works. Every 20-30 minutes your supervisor will score you. If you try to quit the game your boss will be frustrated for your leaving. I am making a bunch of dialogue charts in Google Drive's Drawing application and the link is >>>>> https://drive.google.com/folderview?id=0B25ixuBBGFaeTFdQVFZlSHlDVkk&usp=sharingAll of the different charts are in the folder labeled "Scenarios". I hope you enjoy what I have so far. :-) Update:I figure I should probably post my production blog here too. http://daytondaytona.blogspot.com/

I am trying to decide which Grad School I would like to go to. I would like to go for game design and so far I have a few top choices.
1. USC 2. University of Utah 3. NYU
This is based on my interests and what I have seen some out of these different schools. In the end I am interested in self publishing games. What have you all heard and where have you gone to school? Do you know any interesting professors at any of these or other schools?

I guess this isn't really a proper mockup since it doesn't explicitly have anything to say about the gameplay This is fucking fantastic. I really like the designs and the colours. I do think the dark purple could be more saturated or something though.

@QOG I'm making an arcade/board game style game. The characters are going to be moving along the grid like pacman or a rouge like. I'm going for something way more stylized than realistic. I'm working on an animation of the cat picking up a house and shaking it now. @Farfin I wanted to make the cat look pretty derpy because he's the bad guy. I may do an edit soon which won't take long just to see how I like it. @Kevin Thanks for the color edit. I have some pretty good ideas now that you did that edit with the salmon roof tops. Thanks for the feedback guys. I'll post more soon.

I like the design, it reminds me of a bigger version of Canabalt. I really enjoy the pink background you have on the first image. I think it's because it contrasts from the color of the character. I wish the background (the sky) did the same thing to the character. I can tell where he is and everything but he would be more defined (if that's what you want) if the gradient extended the blue a little further down.
All and all I think it would be easiest to see what this game looks like in motion. The right animation would really give the birds and the guy a mood or character.

There's something familiar I can't quite put my finger on...
What game are you referring to? I want to check it out. I guess my little edit was a bit too subtle. (look at the duck)What is it? La-Mulana? .___. Just tell me.
