I don't really know what it is, I just liked the Walking Dead.

Yay! I loved this game. Although calling it a game is a bit of a stretch. Who agrees that this should have been game of the year?

Hey guys, can anyone recommend an open world game about exploration and crafting? In the vein of Minecraft, Wurm Online, and Dwarf Fortress, without any real goals except to experiment. But for mac. Thanks!

It's cute, and I could definitely see a child enjoying this, but there doesn't seem to be anything special about it. Sorry. Also, by the way, people at these forums frown upon coming just to post your game. You have to get into the community a bit, then they'll give you some respect.

I speak French. Want me to translate?

Je peux parler francais assez bien. Tu veux que je traduises? Je ne pense pas qu'il te comprende.

Just wondering: How hard is it to port a java game from pc to android? I heard android apps ran on java of some sort...
1852  Player / Games / Re: Halo 4 on: November 27, 2012, 05:02:43 AM
Played a bit of the campaign and multiplayer at a friends house. More story (not better, just more), better graphics (no more weird lighting from Reach), new weapons. Pretty much what everyone expected.

Just out of curiosity, why do we even have a thread on this? Halo and COD are like the most AAA games out there. This is an indie games forum. Not saying it's bad, just a little out of place.
1853  Developer / Business / Re: Website for each game vs One website for all games on: November 27, 2012, 04:47:07 AM
If they see you have a roster under your wings, it looks more impressive. That's what I think at least. But make each individual page for each game very alone.... By that, I mean don't have a store constantly jutting out on the side or anything.
1854  Developer / Business / Re: What is your elevator pitch? on: November 27, 2012, 04:44:43 AM
Sounds like a cool idea for a thread. As the first replier, I'd like to suggest to you to change your one sentence elevator pitch to explain what it is a little more. From what I read, it seems like Diablo... where you can pause... Actually, I can't really tell what your game will be like. Maybe say a little more about how it will be different from others in the genre?

Anyways, cool idea for a thread. If I ever finish my game, I hope to see this still alive!

Paddle are going to solve the horrible problem of "digital content being segmented across hundreds of different stores" by creating a new store. It's going to be brilliant.

I tried a few of them, and they seem to focus on jokes rather than really better gameplay. One thing I quite liked was 52 : http://bmo.fuckthisjam.com/submissions/67-52 The ending was quite good, although my friend thought it was too obvious. I don't play visual novels, so the idea seemed novel to me.

On the other hand, Dear Esteban is crazy. Like a man high mixed with Unity.

What if I want a girl? Anyways, if you have any questions with Slick2d, post them in the technical board or drop me a message and I'll help you. There are quite a few bits where I had troubles, and I would be happy to help others out of those problems.

@s_l_m

I'm making a java game with Slick2d. It seems that the only real choices for game development engines for java are slick2d for 2d work, jmonkey for 3d work, and LWJGL for OpenGl, although it seems difficult to learn. Slick2d works pretty well, although it needs more documentation.
1859  Developer / Art / Re: How do pixel artists make 16 pixel sprites large? on: November 20, 2012, 10:08:31 PM
Oh. That's useful. So the window size is full screen (or whatever they set it to), but the resolution is really low?
1860  Player / General / Re: Fight Thread Pollution! Post here if it's not worth a new thread!!! on: November 16, 2012, 10:41:47 PM
If so, I hope Mario doesn't have to save Peach again. If he managed to lose her up until his old age....

On the other hand, this could be a good idea for a realistic platformer. Mario can only jump three pixels high. Luigi needs a crutch.
