I thought I moved the Tutorial...
I'll update the build to remove that issue.
Also, the enemies DO despawn after a bit so the player doesn't get an impassible horde attacking them, though I think for the tutorial, it was just that I used the wrong enemy type (purple homes in and despawns while blue just bounces, so I wanted blue).

I'm a game dev of three years, and I've always liked top-down style games.

Legend of Zelda has always been a close favorite series of mine, though I also like many roguelike games, and platformers (Binding of Isaac and Terraria being some of my favorites in both categories).

I'm fairly new to the forums, and would really like feedback on my games.

Hey all!
This is a game I've been working on since late last year.
I call it, Ghosty.

I want general feedback on the game, especially any bugs or glitches.

General Controls are as follows:
-Mouse to control (scroll over "Ghosty" to begin a level.)
-Left/right mouse buttons to attack
-Esc to return to the main menu (remember to save after you complete a level)
-M to mute music (sounds will stay on. I will most likely change this in a later build.)

Just a few extra notes about the game:
Easy mode has checkpoints, so play that unless you want a challenge. Otherwise, you'll have to restart the level upon death.
Keep the .exe in the folder (It'll keep the save file in there as well).
The game IS meant to be difficult, and the controls are precise.

Here's the trailer (for proof and a quick look at the game).

Other'n that, good luck, and have fun!

Couple small Game Maker related tips:
-Now pressing F1 shows a blank white screen (game information). This can be fixed from global game settings by unchecking the option.
-In my opinion you could increase view's horizontal and vertical border around the character. Right now you move pretty close to view's edge until it moves which is in contrast with the big size of the view.

Those are easy enough to fix. Consider them done.

I think this is a good start.  I have a few thoughts though that would make it better (in my opinion):

1.) make the movement more user friendly. This can be done by letting the user press more than one button at a time.  I was always looking to go diagonal, or if I press left while right is already down, then let up on right, then it keeps going right.  In this situation I would expect the character to move left since I am not pressing the right button anymore.
2.) I think the enemies need to be harder.  I am at work, so I couldn't play through more than a level or two, but they seemed to just run around (sometimes just running into the wall).
3.) Either make the levels smaller, more visually appealing, and/or add more enemies.  As of right now, I just kind of wandered around trying to figure out what to do without much interest.  Many gamers have ADD, so all that running around with some trees here and there along with an enemy sometimes can cause bordem pretty quickly.  I think a game that does this well (that is similar to your game) is Realm of the Mad God.  It is on Steam for free or realmofthemadgod.com.  I would check that out.

I hope this helps!  I do think this is a great start, though.

Keep up the good work!

Thanks for the feedback! I've played RoTMG before, and I was trying to have something like that for the first level. The levels after that are a bit more linear so hopefully the player will have more of an objective (beat the enemies in the room, go get the chest, beat the boss, ect...)and they also have harder enemies. Finally, I tried to keep the movement like that because it's part of the challenge. I could try to get it a bit better, but it's not my top priority.

The UI is way too small and the game itself is very very easy as the enemy AI seems to be very dumb

Some of the enemies later on have better AI (they will actually chase you as opposed to just wandering around), though I agree with the UI being a bit small.

I have recently finished a game called Mage.

It took me a few months to finish and I'd like the opinion of people other than my friends.
So I've come here.
I have used sprites made by Oryx (though most have been modified in some way) so if you dislike that kind of sprite then you're out of luck.
Also, this game is for PC exclusively so sorry Mac users.
Here are a few more screenshots:

The gameplay is similar to the Binding of Issac. You go through dungeons, each dungeon has enemies to defeat and at the end a boss. These levels aren't randomly generated however. When you die, you only have to restart the level, not the game (since the full game is quite long). After every level, the game saves so you don't lose progress when you want to stop.
*General Story*
You are trying to reach the underworld where your king is being held by monsters. You hope to reap many rewards for your service, but you also want to train in magic. So you set out into the dark woods to find a way underground.

The game gives you a quick tutorial but here's a list of controls:
-Movement: WASD or the Arrow keys
-Attack: Left Mouse button (The attacks home in on your cursor so you can lead them   around corners and such.)
-Use of potions or items: Right Mouse button (Only needed for potions and magic sacks)
-Sending animal to attack: Middle Mouse button
Just an FYI: To collect food (healing items) just want onto them. Same with collecting power-ups, animals, and opening chests (Chests knock you back for as long as you hold the button down, so watch for that.)
Give me the download already because too many words!

Finally, please give feedback and enjoy!  Beer!
Edit: If you manage to beat the game, try to get into hard-mode during the ending cutscene.

Hi! I just wanted to let you know that i'm using these sprites in a game i'm making. It may be downloadable, but I want your permission to use the sprites before I begin finalizing it.
So, may I use your sprites and tiles? I'll give you credit and such.
