201  Developer / Playtesting / Myst-like game? on: November 07, 2012, 07:29:32 AM
Would anyone else be interested in pursuing a project like this, preferably for profit? I wish there were more games like them, personally; the only reason I play violent games at all is because there are so few that aren't.

As many of you would expect, I would love to do the music for any such project, though I do have some very basic experience with Blender as well.

VERY impressive indeed! Smiley

Just wrote this. Not technically game music, but it is "gift" music for a webcomic in progress.

Looking even better, dvoid! Wink

This is actually a pretty good idea; it might mean less threads involving the person starting the thread advertising themselves with no additional sources, which I've seen quite a lot of.

Thank you very much for listening, Steve!

Thanks, Maverick. XD Everything but some effect processing was done in Omnisphere. Personally, I often use it for the included samples from Distorted Reality and Symphony of Voices. XD

I wouldn't say I'm the standard, Kilig. XD For one, most of my music is not orchestral in nature. XD Thanks for the compliment, though.

Thank you very much, JudahRoydes. Smiley The swells would be Omnisphere sine waves run through an envelope to sound like a reversed piano. The same sound, interestingly enough, was used in the multiplayer menu for the follow-up game, Ratchet and Clank: Up Your Arsenal. XD

Made my own submission at last. Smiley

Dirk is a character I had actually created for a while: a fancharacter based in the Ratchet and Clank franchise. He is a Thug: a lizard-like alien whose race was attacked by the duo constantly in Going Commando: hence, the dark tones representing him reflecting on his dark past. Gameplay of Going Commando would probably better describe how tragic it likely was for any survivors.

So sorry I didn't make a submission, after all; Hurricane Sandy blew the power at my house. Sad

This game looks pretty good. Smiley Just saw the youtube video and commented on it (my username on YT is SgtYayap).

Do you have a composer? Your website says nothing about one. I'm willing to apply if you don't. Smiley

Do you have anyone doing the music for this project? It looks very interesting! Smiley
215  Developer / Audio / Re: Charging for work? How much? Sharing insights! on: October 31, 2012, 05:11:57 PM
I'm getting seriously confused by this thread. Not to bring it off-topic, but every time I try to find paid work, I'm deliberately ignored, at best. That being said, I am shocked at how high the suggested rates are; they do not sound entry-level for the position at all!
216  Jobs / Portfolios / Re: Affordable composer looking for work on: October 31, 2012, 12:36:15 PM
Unfortunately, Hurricane Sandy has taken its toll on my area; I am unable to compose for a few days due to no power. This is a bump, anyway, for future developers.

Not fully related to my own musical ideas, but I made this video. Smiley
