{Producer Rick Nicolet and scribe Carlton Kenneth Holder have joined forces with Tim Langdell owner and CEO of veteran game company EDGE Games, Inc., to jointly produce a TV show and episodic videogame.
Nicolet and Holder have produced a half hour pilot presentation “Teenage Wasteland,” a scripted live action series geared towards the extreme sports and Hip Hop audiences.
The plot for “Teenage Wasteland” has everyone over the age of thirty dead due a solar flare and the beaches of California become lawless and all the surviving youths form tribes of martial artists, break dancers and skateboarders.
Nicolet sees this new model of producing a TV show and episodic videogame as amazingly cost efficient.
“Our intention is to bring on board a network partner for the television series and during production we will be creating digital assets for the series of videogames, which Langdell and his award winning EDGE team will produce, thus amortizing the costs,” stated Nicolet.
Langdell was immediately intrigued from the start, “We are currently producing a prototype of the game which will also be serialized and will feature viewer-player content. This will be the first game to enable players to create content that will then appear in an upcoming episode of a TV show."
Langdell's company, EDGE, will also distribute the game via PS3, Wii, Xbox360, PC and iPhone/iPod Touch. Langdell said, "This is one of the most exciting projects we have worked on."}
