Wow, that's pretty crazy. Here it's like ten or twenty hours (but you must take driver's ed to get it when you're sixteen, otherwise you have to wait until you're eighteen). It's not a full license though, you can only drive between 5am and 12pm. You get a full license at age seventeen.

A recent Flash game with ZX Spectrum-style graphics (I think? I think there were also multiple "themes" too) that was a plaformer timed with music, with the world scrolling forward continuously. I think it used the arrow keys + A/S? and depending on what arrow keys you held down S would do different moves, like roll backwards. I think it had three difficulty modes too, and on the hardest the game would end after a single death. I remember seeing it on Bytejacker.

Oh man, I found this yesterday, and have been having so much fun with it! It's like some sort of mix between a Metroidvania and a Sonic game (speaking of Sonic, the music really reminds me of the Genesis Sonic games). It's also the longest demo I've seen in a while. I love the price, too; I'll be buying once I've got some extra money. I've had no problems with the game so far, though I am finding it to be pretty difficult in some places...Walnut Creek A's gems are pretty tough for the first level. Good work! (Oh, and here's my progress)

You also should give some examples of RPGs you liked. It might help us to pick out a good title to play.
Well, I absolutely loved EarthBound. I've played through it at least four times and it's probably my favorite RPG of all time. I really liked the .hack//G.U. series. I've been playing through Persona 3 Portable recently and have almost finished it; I like it, but I'm not really sure why. Maybe it's because the battle system is so different. These are the only RPGs I've really spent a lot of time with. It usually takes a really good story or really fun battle system to keep me interested to the point of finishing. Before you play a Final Fantasy game play through Mother 3 and Paper Mario.
I've yet to play through Mother 3 all the way. I've done only the first three or four chapters I think, on two separate attempts. I made the terrible mistake of watching a Let's Play on YouTube first, which kind of killed my motivation to keep playing because I already know the story. Even so, I very much like it, even though the whole "music combo" thing is really hard (but I love the concept!). I have Paper Mario (bought on Wii VC), but I haven't gotten anywhere close to finishing it. I think I'm in the desert area. I'm not so good at finishing games. Oh, and as for Tactics...I think a friend of mine gave me a copy of the PSP version a while back. It's probably hiding in my closet. I vaguely remember trying to do the first battle with only two characters for like an hour, not realizing you could add more. Oops.

I've been using Windows 7 since I bought my computer about a year and a half ago. I've yet to even blue screen once and I've got no complaints about speed or security. I would like to try Linux, but I use a lot of software that's Windows only. I had to use a Mac for a while for school (Photoshop, mostly) and they're okay; I probably wouldn't buy one because of the price though.
(and I've got a partition with Ubuntu, but GRUB won't accept USB keyboard input anymore so I can't choose to boot it. Guess I should find a PS/2 keyboard, but that's too much of a pain to use every time I want to boot something else, so it can just sit there unused)

Link's Awakening DX is out for me (in America). I don't know for sure if it's out yet in other places though. Will probably buy it, having not played it before (and still having no 3DS games).
EDIT: Bought it, and enjoying it. They upgraded the Virtual Console system to allow for a user-placed save state, instead of automatically making one when you close the game.

A few weeks ago I went to a friend's house and did some LAN play with IL-2 Sturmovik 1946. It was some of the most fun I've had in a while - screaming as whoever was in front failed to take off, as the other crashed into the wreckage...
We barely knew what we were doing (we'd each spent maybe an hour or so before getting used to the game, and neither of us having played any flight sims before) and were playing with 360 controllers, not even joysticks. It was still a blast. I need to play it again some time.
And oh man, that damage modeling - it's so cool just to get hit and see what happens!

I wish this game didn't take a solid hour to play beginning to end,
I believe if you press Ctrl-X, it'll instantly close the game and save the game at the last room you entered. Aw man, this is a really sad trend. Card Saga Wars better get finished.

I used to play this game obsessively, but I haven't played in quite some time. I got pretty good, but mostly stuck to CTF/iCTF and a few of the races (most races were too much for my patience). Fantastic game, though it's hard to find a good server. Count me in if you plan something.

I finished just the single player in somewhere between 6 or 7 hours, according to the Steam playtime timer. Just started co-op today and so far it's been really fun. I almost feel it would be better playing local co-op instead, though.

There are two potatoes (from the ARG - more potatoes = Portal 2 comes out faster, basically) in Super Meat Boy. 1. Die eleven times in World 4, level 19 to open a login screen. Enter "death traps" as the password for a potato. 2. Search "FOR MEANING" in the Levels tab in Super Meat World (the level portal thingy that unlocks with 20 bandages). I don't think this one has any password needed. You also get a free potato by joining this Steam group if you own at least one of the potato sack games. The potatoes you've earned can be seen on the top of your profile in the Steam Community thing.
