Once upon a time in the west has some great music in with it too.. I heard it around the house growing up.
Slow movies: There will be blood. That was a first thought I had had about a new'ish one. Alot of the sluggers from what I'd say fit the definition (albeit the American films listed) have slowly sludged out. And then one more that I feel fits the "Longer shots, minimal or quiet music, infrequent dialogue.. etc" that I'm dropping in here, please excuse the Deschanel, but I really liked the shots, dialogue, minimal music choices and sorta hollow sound scape of All the Real Girls, and also I guess I liked George Washington too by the same guy David Gordon Green. (Yeah, its the PineApple express guy..)
And again. The Holy Mountain. Which to me is like celluloid poetry.

I'm trying to suffer through Kingdoms of Amalur because I hate leaving games unfinished. It's painful!
That may be quite a long ride. I feel the same way about it and it still sits out within reach to throw it in the ps3. I just also just checked the date of the first trophy, April 2012. A long go.
With that, I'm cracking a beer and going into my first play of Cart Life!!

Gonna play some Scribblenauts. I have never played a single game in the series, have always heard quite a bit a of good things about it. Admittedly, when I heard about a DC universe version of it coming out soon I decided that its going to be the first one I'd play. I eat my words as I see Scribblenauts Unlimited is only 5 bucks first day of the summer sale. That one is going to be my first. Long day coming.. and about ten eleven hours later I will give it a run.
Super excited.

Just honestly kinda sorta found out about these guys out of thin air. The Octopus Project. Pretty good. Sounds like what happens when an indie documentary score and an old nintendo cartridge got close. Real close.

I keep coming up with Mirror's Edge too. Thinking about Dishonored and Portal and other first person viewed obstacles, I just can't shake Mirror's Edge from the fore front.

the payoff is so so so good if you listen to the whole thing and pay attention to the tension. don't give up. let it drive you nuts all the way to the end.
Do not do this listening to Whitehouse. Heheheheheheh.

Going back and replaying the Walking Dead games was kind of a negative experience for me because I realised that basically none of the decisions effect anything. That being said, the storytelling is really wonderful, and I had never been so attached to video game characters before.
I always wondered to myself if a second play-through would ruin the experience at all due to what you pointed out. I played through it at the same time my girlfriend did, and we'd talk about our episodes on walks around the city. Most of the time we were amazed that how in the end it didn't really matter what we chose but how really important and personal the game made it feel. Brilliantly I'd add. Our experiences were totally different but pretty much on a rail. And then we'd discuss social economic structures.. on and on.. and before long we'd get ice cream and just smile.

Does watching a Let's Play of the latest AvP game and groaning at how poorly the player handles the Alien and Predator count?
Dunno, is it the player or the game's fault?? That might be hard to tell on that one from what I've heard. I've never played it but I am one of those people who pine for a good Alien game some day. Fondly remembering the days playing the c64 Aliens game and a side scroller one, which I to this day can't remember if I had played it on a SNES, Genesis, Amiga, or a gameboy. Mebbe a NES too.. I don't remember. Put the new Tomb Raider back in after playing a few hours Arkham City. Viola, trading fists for guns. Come on bats.. you know that killed that guy. And that guy. And that guy. Big GoG sale going on too.. Gonna burn through the first four Ultima's and then transfer that character to five. I always had corrupt saves back in the day and I never played Ultima 5 because of it. I mean, I had just beaten 4 why would I want to play through that avatar shit again for 5 just because it couldn't use the save file. Nuts to that, I never played through five. I know I only need to play 4 for the character transfer but I want to see what those games are like now, in relation to time passed both for the game and myself.

Love Missile F1-11 by Sigue Sigue Sputnik
Oh yeah! (Not in reference to Ferris Bueller at all) I had a friend in high school that had something like 3 or 4 Sigue Sigue records on his walls. In college, his walls turned into the Clash'es. I turned some Sputnik on a few weeks back at work. Right now.... currently listening to Tom Waits. (Due to the thread's nature.. hehehehehe)

btw, you might wanna get a ps plus account. it's not that expensive ($50 for 12 months) and you get a bunch of games for "free," including demon's souls, catherine and the ico/sotc hd collection.
I second that notion. Look into as well which region you want to subscribe with as well because differing regions get different games and at different times. I believe you can pick when you sign up. But its well worth the money, they give you so many games, full games, psn games on and on. Some months are light, but then at other times they dump 4 titles on you. Yukuza 4 and Dead Souls: I didn't play to far into Yakuza 4 but when I played Dead Souls all the characters and locations were the same as Yakuza 4 (that I had seen) to an extent. Its in a way kinda modding Yakuza 4 if you dig. And it happens in the same time period. A kinda of Elseworlds or MultiVerse sort of thing.

Honestly I played so much XCom yesterday that I felt that I was back in 2003 playing Gladius. I sunk alot of hours into that one.

Lollipop Chainsaw and Shadows of the Damned are pretty fun and I think console stuck. No More Heroes, as well, if we are in the same creator zone. Those are a few more that I didn't see mentioned.
I had a ton of fun with Yakuza Dead Souls as well, but if you aren't into a grind it might not be up your alley.
And I pretty much just walked back in the apartment with a copy of the Last of Us. Grabbing a drink, and loading it up...

I'm not really able to continue playing Walking Dead due the to the end of episode 2. All this shit seriously disturbed me. It once again reminded me why I'm vegetarian and why I can't bear any imagination like this in any way.
Episode four is pretty chill. Sort of like issues 22ish to mebbe around into the lower 30s of the comic book. Its the lull 'get comfortable we're surviving' trick for pacing. Kinda like Battlestar Galactica season 3. But, bare in mind you are playing a game in which the dead eat the living and when the living do it, again a story device, to the living it now it calls into question all sorts of ethics, and morals. (Is that right?) Anyway, hang in there. I've been vegetarian for over 10 years and I crack up walking by the meat/butcher counters. Sometimes calling it the open air morgue. Onto games. I have been playing Xcom. A freebie on the PS network. Wanted to grab this game since it released but was really really skeptical on the console version. Tactics games and I go way back, but I hadn't played a really good one since, taking liberty here, probably ps one. Front Mission 3, FFT, I'll even throw Vagrant Story near them. After the handful of handholding and tutorial Xcom has not disappointed. Absolutely hooked on it.
