Here's the unofficial GDC Party Calendar if you want to pick a day, and maybe get the denny's art jam on the calendar too.

I'll be at GDC this year!
3  Developer / Art / Anyone got any characters/art from their games they want tributes to in mine? on: January 26, 2013, 07:39:22 PM
I couldn't think of what forum to put this in, but i suppose this one is the closest Smiley

My game, Drugbound, comes out this week and I'd love to put some other devs'/artists' work as tributes to indie games in mine. If you want i can put an up-to 32x32 pixel image of your character in my game in the form of weed. It's hard to explain in words so here are some pics.

Here is what the guy from Canabalt looks like in the game (done with artists' permission):

And here's what Commander Video would have looked like if gaijin games would give me permission (won't be in the final game):

Let me know if anyone wants to put something from their game in mine. I'm not picky, i just think this would be a fun idea to support other indie devs and artists out there. Shoot me an email at [email protected] or send me a pm here. Cheers!

5  Developer / Playtesting / Alpha for my game Drugbound is playable right now. HTML5/web. Feedback anyone? on: January 16, 2013, 06:46:51 PM
Hi guys I've been working on this project solo for the past few months. I wouldn't mind some general feedback or testing. Are any parts bad? Are any parts good? Have you found a bug?

I'm pretty happy with the way the game is taking shape, so feel free to give it a whirl and let me know. It works in any modern browser but might not work in IE (dunno, i haven't checked yet).

I have forms or forums for feedback at the bottom of the game page, or else reply here in this thread.

Oh hi guys my name is Dave and i'm a developer from Omaha Nebraska USA. I don't most stuff with javascript and html5. I dabbled in unity for a bit too, but i think i'll be concentrating on html5 for the next year at least.

I've made a handful of smaller games and I'm working on my first larger-scale game right now called Drugbound.

Here's my site and i'm @mrlasertron on twitter.
7  Developer / Business / Re: F2P Mechanic vs. Demo/Paid on Mobile on: January 14, 2013, 12:43:43 PM
I think you already hit one of the main drawbacks to F2P, the amount of time you need to spend building your F2P infrastructure/architecture.  This is a big pain if you're going solo by yourself.  I have a game I've casually been working on for that past year. I would have been done a few months ago if it wasn't for creating the proper F2P elements and making sure it wasn't F2Win.

Both models can be successful. I would suggest doing whichever model works best for your game, rather than making a game centered around a prechosen business model.
