Cool stuff, guys! Though I feel some of these make equally fun of the professional game development as of the indie kind - sometimes it's exactly the same, but with some bells and whistles (and a proper new haircut every month ).

That is awesome. But, how will it be live?
It will be something like a combination of a multiplayer game with an IRC chat which will be the key part.

I think it may have been fixed in the newest version. We were/are having some issues with our video player/encoder Theora and so it sometimes crashes when loading videos.
There is more Octodad on the way though, and during, or a few days after, GDC we will be releasing a version of the game with three new levels. We'd like to release an update to automatically add them to current builds, but I don't think that will happen because a lot of things have changed on the tech side that would make the old builds incompatible with the new levels/features.
We're looking to get some support at GDC and hopefully put out some sort of commercial sequel some time in the future that would be much more polished/lengthy. We've also got some Kinect controls going using the OpenNI/NITE middleware, but we aren't sure whether we'll be releasing that publicly or not quite yet. I might have some other stuff to share with you guys soon regarding Kinect though.
Thanks for the info. Looks like I'll have to try out the newest version then. And then wait for some even more enhanced ones.

I played it shortly after release. It is a super-cool idea and very well realized too, but the game crashed halfway through as I entered one of the rooms (the nursery I think). Was that fixed in some way?

I don't want to come off as totally critical, but I'm not sure if there's a chance for self-defense when e.g. someone sticks a knife in your back and then runs away. And I wouldn't count on a bystander doing anything.

it would eliminate it voluntarily of course. in other words, nobody would be forced to not use force. voluntaryism itself is completely voluntary. societies of people who are voluntaryists would all voluntarily eschew force towards one another.
What if some voluntaryists eschews violence for a while, then one day changes his/hers mind and starts killing people all around him/her and coercing them to do things he wants. Then after being talked out of it becomes a voluntaryist again for a few months, then another day again becomes mad about something and starts killing and hurting people again? That would seriously put me off voluntaryism if I got in to enjoy lack of force and coercion.

The thing that bugs me is how is voluntaryism supposed to hold together and eliminate coercion if everything in it is volountary including participation in its ideals?

Anyway, the problem extends further than your one community. Even if you guys were trying to maintain some quality standards (like I said, you aren't), the reception of the people around you is insanely stupid--which the creator won't ever fix because he wants money and fame. This stupid reaction is against video-game creation, and the creator propagates it when he basks in their praise.
...and so the art of mainstream game-making is DOOMED! Is that what is bothering you?
