Fanarts for Ookami Kasumi's game which is based on Russian fairytales. For the top leftmost house below, I tried 2 point perspective but had trouble fitting the roof. Does it look off?

Hi Ivan!

I'm an artist who is interested in working on a small project. I'm currently doing BG's for another vn game so minimal characters and required assets would be ideal. Here are some examples of my style http://www.flickr.com/photos/94425968@N05/ I'm also open to working with other artists.

I'd like to work on something different from the usual dating games or games based in a Japanese setting. Something more unique...with an interesting story...

As for Ren'Py it's writer friendly but there's a lot of interesting things that you could do to enhance a project which requires more programming experience. Instead of writing your own program, I think time would be better spent experimenting and pushing the boundaries of existing programs. I'm sure we could come up with some events or features that could put your programming skills to use and challenge your creativity.

O.O awesome animation!!! Is it for a cutscene?

Hey are you on Lemma? I think I've read a really early dev thread before the story sounds familiar. I'm looking forward to the interactive, point and click, ace attorney style gameplay <3. It looks like you guys are having fun pushing the boundaries far away from the usual vn games. I agree the art is fantastic and I really like the idea behind the placement of the characters in the bar screenie. Why didn't I think of that :p

Charming game you've got here! Does the story continue?

Thank you! Indeed I had several problems, but I hope I did not scare anyone. Some people were surprised by the ostensibly painful process ... but I'm having a lot of fun making this game! I'm really intense about everything that's all ...

Well I knew that game dev isn't a smooth process so it didn't so much scare me. It kind of prepares me for when we do encounter major problems in our own project and if were passionate about something and persevere we can push through the probs.

Thank you. Now, for this reading, would you rather I didn't do the accent? What specifically do they mean about the next take not being an impression. The character is original, but within the Elder Scrolls universe.

Well I guess they assumed that it was an impression because the other two were. Even though the character is original the take doesn't allow us to gauge your versatility. For the 5 mins it doesn't really change much in terms of dynamics and emotion. If you listen to other VA's demo reels in just over a 1min you can hear a variety of expressions. As we've already heard this accent try dropping it next time.

Hey!
So our VA said

Well, the quality is terrible- I can hardly hear past the fuzz. That aside, they seem to have a slight idea of voice manipulation. However, it is hard to deem his worth when he has only impressions uploaded. Impressions don't require the same creativity original characters do.

And our audio/composer had some recording tips for you:
-In the Ra'Quish one the mic is too close and there's background noise (a fan?), the other two aren't bad.
-Make sure you're not moving or too close to the mic
-Remove any external interference (fans, noisy electronics and other such things) will also help a lot
-Other tips would be shorter demo reels (5 minutes for one voice is way too much), and doing original voices, not impersonations
-Recommends a new mic if you're serious about voice acting

Hope that helps and keep practicing! Also I'm about to pm you.

I only have the voice direction for two male characters so far (you're a guy right?).

1. A somewhat deeper voice that reflects his collected and calculated nature.  He has a dry and subdued humor that isn’t predicated on flamboyant emotions.
2.A higher-pitched male voice tinged with mercurial emotions and boisterousness.  Despite his rowdiness, he still possesses a sharp intellect, which is reflected in the more serious intonation his voice takes when discussing a serious issue.

These characters are around 20. You don't have to stick these characters though, we have a variety of male characters so if you'd like to throw together a something like a demo reel demonstrating you're versatility I can pass it on to my team.

It would be nice if you could upload (soundcloud, youtube, whatever) some samples on the sort of voices you do
A good idea if you'd like feedback and more direction from the forum  Wink

Hi Austin!

Our project is still a while away from being completed but I'm curious to hear what you can do.

Fun comics! Sometimes when I see finished games I kinda forget the reality of game dev and how much work people put into them. Anyway its inspiring how you haven't let any hurdles prevent you from continuing your project.

The paper concept art is interesting. What type of game were you thinking of making? Nice variety of styles you've got here. Good luck with the kickstarter.
