Hey! It's been quite a while, hasn't it? I was 14 when I started here. Now I'm 20.

So, I tried making a new account, but for some reason that didn't work, so I've changed my name.

Very few of you might remember me, but I used to go by the name of "Javet."

I made a thread called "Freeware Game of the Day" which did quite well for a while, and I made this thread, which, surprisingly, is still on the Top 10 most viewed threads.

That was years ago, when I was in high school. I'm not a sophomore in college studying film.

I used to also write chiptune music. But, since I don't have any chiptune software anymore, those days are sadly over.

For those of you that remember me (if there are any), I've come back because there was a gaping whole in my life that could only be filled by the indie gaming community.

For those of you that don't remember me: Hi. My name is J.W. Hendricks.

I'm a film student in Orlando, Florida. I study writing, directing, and cinematography.

One reason I'm coming back is because the indie gaming community has grown so much in the time I've been away, that I just couldn't not be a part of it. I love the people so much (unless they're douchebags now. I hope not.). Now, I'm looking for projects to be a of.

What area? Writing.

That's right, I'd absolutely love to write the script for a game. Story-wise, that is. I sincerely believe that games are as valid a storytelling medium as movies or books, and I'd like to help prove it by writing games. I don't have a specific genre to adhere to. I want to extend my boundaries.

So anyways, that's the short version. It's good to be back, and I wish you all happy developing.

The (500) Days of Summer Soundtrack and Score. Quite delightful :D

My car broke down last night, which led from "Captain America night" to "Let's save JW night"

From what I remember, you'll need to be able to extract or edit JAR files for a lot of that -- it's not a big deal, but you may not have software on hand that does so. It may have changed since I did modding, of course, but it's not hard.
All complete gibberish to me. I can't even figure out how to create things.

So I bought Minecraft yesterday and apparently a highly anticipated mod that's been in development for a few months came out yesterday as well. It's called the Aether mod and is its own big adventure and looks gorgeous. From what I hear, it could be its own standalone game.

It looks pretty awesome, but right now I need to figure out how to install ModLoader, AudioMod, ShockAhPl, THIS MOD, and even figure out how to actually play Minecraft. I'm a complete Minecraft idiot.

Band practice. We had to cut our set list in half.
What's your show theme?

Theme? Hm.... chaos? Anarchy? Something like that.
My high school's doing an 80's show this year. Last year we did a Beatles show. Hell of a way to end high school for me.

...just reminisced about high school...

I'm in charge around here, it's fair to say.

talked to corporate
approved memos
lead a workshop
remembered birthdays
directed workflow
my own bathroom
micromanaged
promoted synergy
hit on debra
got rejected
swallowed sadness
sent some faxes
called a sex line
cried deeply
demanded a refund
etc.
Like a boss?

Last thing I expect to do in college is party. I have claustrophobia with people.

Anyways, I just got a car wash and filled up on my gas AND got another rare music conquest in the mail! HUZZAH!
I didn't mind it. I'm a pretty quiet person and I don't drink. Drunk people are hilarious, though.

If it makes you feel any better, I got my license a month ago (I'm 18 and I started college 3 weeks ago). I got my permit in May. I turned 18 in January.

Just got home from my first frat party. The last thing I expected to do in college was cheer up 4 drunk people.

Turned two broken DS Lites into one working DS Lite and now have a bag of spares too.

Just saw how awesome this is.
