The final version will be paid, yes. But it's at least a year away.

Glad you liked it!

Thanks! The game looked quite different back at No More Sweden Smiley

Hey everyone,

Some of you might remember a game called Backworld from the Assemblee competition a couple of years ago. Just wanted to let you all know that we (me and Saint here on the forums) started working on a improved version called Backworlds some months ago and have now released a free demo for PC and Mac.

We are also running a fundraising campaign at IndieGoGo, head over there to find download links for the game.

Any feedback appreciated!

Very cool, I love how the movement feels.

I randomly jumped out off one of the ledges and managed to jump across stuff in an very smooth way, and that got me thinking that it would be very cool if you would implement stuff like autograbbing ledges and such, to make it feel a bit like Assassins Creed when you're scampering across rooftops.

Oh ok, cool, I'll have to check that out.
7  Community / Versus / Re: Pumpion! on: January 27, 2011, 12:12:35 PM
Yeah that would be a possibility. Even if I wouldn't manage to make it synthesize in game I could at least batch generate the dictionary.

New progress screenshot, with player input and player high-lighting:

Also I just had to change the name of the game...

LiquidAsh:
I thought about that...but that would actually be pretty hard because I would have to come up with loads of insults that rhyme and everything.

I love this game already  Kiss

Hmm, yeah, I realize it will be hard to incorporate ALL insults...maybe player will be able to overrule a word being rejected and if both approve it will be added to a database...I think I would be able to do that.

starsrift:
Well, my first thought was only to allow one insult per turn, not stringing. Though I guess it would be stringing if players are fast enough with 'em...

But I just realized that it would take a long long long time to record all the insults that I want to add...I could perhaps go for simlish instead, though that would be less funny.

That's the name of my game, don't take it personally!  Gentleman

EDIT: I had to change the name of this game...it was terrible before. So now it's a gentlemans insult!

So here's my idea (I haven't read through all other threads so maybe someone is doing something similar):

A game where the players insult each other by writing an insult as fast as possible and sending it off to the other player...doing this will add to your own timer and subtract from the other players.

However I have a bunch of rules and stuff in mind, for example repeating an insult will add/subtract less every time it is used again or responding to an insult with something that rhymes will add/subtract more.

So the player whose timer runs out, loses.

All of this would naturally have to be taken from a dictionary of words...I'll try to put in as many as I can...

Was also thinking that the profanities could be read, so I might need a voice actor if I can pull this together...or Ill just do it myself in worst case. My Word!

I've never done multi-player stuff, so Ill just start with hot seat I think and then add multi-player if I can...will be using Unity so maybe it won't be superhard.

Run n gun was a lot of fun! But, the game often very suddenly becomes superhard, when you get enemies attacking from all directions and you have to jump and all kinds of crazy stuff happening. It should be ramping up bit by bit Smiley

I've signed and booked it all! Looking forward to it  Beer!

Just came across this. Congrats on a very nice game and I'm glad a bigger version is in the works.

I need some help though, on the cryptic caves level. How do you get to the alternate exit (the old rabbit in the cave)?

Thanks

Glad you liked it!

Well, it involves using the frog. Hope that helps (if not, ask again, we're not going to be ridicilous about it). Smiley

Thanks zorrito! This sort of information is really good for our continued development of the game.

Fake

Me and Saint created this along with two other guys at the Nordic Game Jam.

It's a game about art forgery. Choose between different sets of images and cut out parts of them to create forgeries of Mona Lisa etc. Your art-dealing pimp Don Key will give you advice and coach you. You also get a rating once you're finished and you can save the forgery to your harddrive.
