Hey, i'm on the way back on track. I worked last month on my LD entry "The Stitcher" and finished it so i can work further on Mori. You can play it here: http://topf.itch.io/stitcher As for mori i'm trying to transport my flashpunk experience to haxepunk and get into haxe right now. it looks more promising with its native cross-plattform distribution and controller support.

the last months i had a lot of different workshops at the entrystage of my artschool but now i'm off to the main chapter and free to work on mori. i already managed to do some stuff like a menu. it's good getting back into programming. so let's see whats going to happen the next weeks and i will try to keep the devlog up to date.

nice, but i think at the second shoot knockback animation the smoke in the background would naturally be more on the right? just an idea

thanks kread and sorry for that huge response time. when i have read your interest in the story i was a little confused about what i shall tell because is thought it wouldnt be so good to tell too much of it yet. mainly for gameplay pleasure reasons. and then i got a new home and i'm still moving (by bycicle), so sorry if you waited for some insight.
but i'm not yet sure how much i can reveal without making the game a lesser experience for those who want to play it. so i keep it short:
mori is a young kid that got locked up in a small box by its parents. not out of cruelty but out of anxiety. the anxiety that those shadows they fear so much could harm their little kid.

hey thanks SolarLune. jay i thought of an apple core but i like thats not directly recognizable. and i thought of some extra movement in the animation (did some things) but i think an apple "butzen" (how we call it in germany) hasnt much extra movement that wiggle around.
and more fruits - maybe. to now its very different what matches the concept and it may look like it to now but its not only about food :D

looks good risky, one point to think about for the turtle like hero. i like the goofyness in it but maybe the walkcycle could use some bodymovement. so it kinda looks like a moonwalk backwards :D ** after a break i got back into doing a little animation for my game but im not fully satisfied yet. maybe you got some ideas?

Oh man! This game rocks. I just played the first episode and i would like to play even more. I played the last month like a lot of dota and hadnt the motivation do play any other game (i guess its kinda the concept of dota to cant finish it) but when i got the first minute of it i was totally banned in. great job also your friend (wait need to look his name..i think it would be cool if you could write your names into the description too) Theodor Royén.
There are a few bugs here and there (like when i grab an item like the musicbox while im sliding on an uneven ground i keep sliding to the air while the menu pops up) and its sometimes really hard to figure out. For me it was fun but like i read in the comments (i cant understand your 3/5 rating on newgrounds maybe because its so hard sometimes) for some not so gamer gamer it maybe too hard. Nevertheless great game.
Ah, two things: The fullscreen mode didnt work on my mac but i dont know how its in windows (newgrounds) and (what maybe fixes the first thing) a standalone version would be nice too ((:
