It was good, for sure. One of the better films I've went to in recent memory. There are a few problems with the "It's all a dream" interpretation of the ending though.

- First of all, did we really just waste 2 and a half hours and overpriced movie tickets for THAT ending again? It was all a dream is quite fitting in the context of the movie, but it's so beaten to death that it's pretty much nothing more than a shaggy dog story delivery service.
- Also, if Cobb was the dreamer, than he wouldn't have been attacked by the subconscious. They're a defense for the dreamers.
- When he arrives back at his house, he wouldn't have known what their faces looked like unless he made them up, which again, cop out.
- The top spins forever while Mal is dreaming. That would mean if it spun forever, she was the dreamer which makes this whole thing even MORE stupid.

Still very good!

- Formula for determining the commerical success chance of a game:

(Name Brand Value * 1.5 + Sequel Bonus* + Number of Bloom Effects - Well Developed Characters^3 * Number of shades of brown and/or grey) +/- Overall Game Quality**
* Diminishing Returns while using numbers; rebooting through a "super" or other somesuch is recommended.
** Add if name brand value is high or the game is based on a movie; otherwise, subtract.

- The assumed quality of a bullet hell game is directly proportional to how many stupidly hard sections it has, regardless of graphical quality or general playability.

I hope there are no trolls reading this thread, because this is unintentionally a perfect tutorial in how to troll maths geeks! Big Laff

It's also a comedy that has a lot of genius bonuses, but those are not required to understand the humor on a basic level. :weneedapopcorneatingsmiley:

Also, the topic will probably die now because I linked to tvtropes.   Concerned

I have the same audio glitch. Decent game otherwise though.

I'm currently making a contest SHMUP called "Project - Research Vessel Oceanius".

Yes/no?

I wanted to enter the latest Game Maker competition, but I can't compose to save my life. Even worse, because the exe can only be 8mb, you essentially have to use midi if you want a lot of music! Terrifying  Shocked!

So I gave cgMusic a whirl. Tell me how you think this one came out.

So, has anyone gotten the RC yet? How is it?
9  Player / Games / Re: Help test Sleep Is Death? on: April 04, 2010, 12:09:04 PM
I just broke down and bought it.

I'd love to test. My email for the pre order was [email protected].

The secrecy thing is what really bugs me. It seems like Apple did it in the hopes that the word there was even a contract would never reach the general public and help with their Pr.

Unfortunately that's probably what's going to happen anyways because major news outlets probably aren't going to report on it (or can't, if they have an app).

There was a freeware game where you played as a sentient AI straight out of the movies. It was open source as well.

Any ideas?

Cheers for world two! Have you set up a tool shop in World 3?
16  Community / Assemblee: Part 2 / Re: BirdyWorld [FINISHED] on: February 15, 2010, 02:11:56 PM
You can walk across water with the hammer.
Oh, I didn't know that. And thanks for the d5 location.
17  Community / Assemblee: Part 2 / Re: BirdyWorld [FINISHED] on: February 15, 2010, 12:01:29 PM
Still enjoying my time in the Birdyworld. Once I find the boss of D5 (help?) I'll start writing a World 2 walkthrough. No LoZ-ish game is complete without a walkthrough! Also, took a sneak peak at the item I'll get from D5's boss. Good stuff.

I'm against a re-voiding system. The absolutely bad maps are few and far between, and there's just too much potential for abuse. As for some more meta-tools, how about bridges that let you walk across water like the hammer goes through terrain? Or maybe warp tokens that take you to the nearest Panda Travel or out of a dungeon?

I hate to keep editing this, but you got a mention on Jay is Games!

Angel was my goto until I got the Birdman tribal leader. The tripple palm strike of the monk lord, that does multiple 20's of damage pretty much one shots the bosses.
I tried Master Monk a little while after I posted. Good stuff  Hand Thumbs Up Right

Speaking of birdmen, how do you get the row next to them, and the row below that? Do I need to use unlocks?

Dating Sim + Edutainment!

Honestly, I can't think of a good punch line for this one. There's just too many options... ;-)

Beat Viel (Veil?) and was staring at a blank screen after the last bit of text. Hit esc. Going back to game, there is no hud. Beat him again sans hud, now still staring.

What happened to the stuff from old versions?

Edit: Removed spoilers.
