Gold was by far my favourite, as it fixed all the issues with the first one, but didn't go off the deep end with the later ones.

So I might.

2343  Player / General / Re: Flower, Sun, and Rain (Suda51, DS) on: March 14, 2010, 10:01:22 AM
I recently and very abruptly became a huge Suda fan after digging up an old Gamecube copy of Killer7. And now I have NMH as well. Good stuff.

I want to pick this up at some point, I don't mind a good story-em-up.

I have never had a single problem with Steam, or playing any Steam game offline unless it expressly required online play.

Gonna have to refer to an expert on this one.

This isn't going to be terribly helpful as feedback...

I like the idea, and it's fairly smooth, but there is just something wrong with the controls and I don't know what. Maybe because the character drifts or bounces really high from breaking blocks, but something just feels frustrating.

ROUGE
Currently beta v0.8. (842kb zipped)

Download it so far here: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=PJSZ06OT.

This was an attempt to see what Construct could do, and also to make a roguelike, because it's SUPER INDIE Cave Story Also, because it's cool.
So, anyway, what it is is a straightforward and generally unfair roguelike, essentially a 5 minute game.
I thought about online high scores, but I don't have the patience to make them/tolerance to find some way to avoid people spoofing them.
Just a tiny game, but it is entirely customizable, and I plan to add more customization options in the future as well. All images and sounds can be replaced, there is no palette limit, just size. Instructions for doing so are enclosed.

LEFT TO DO?
Put sounds in (most are there, but not in the game)
Possibly clean up the main menu
Add any more customization options that I can think of
Add more level layouts (maybe, it's a tricky process)
And... stuff

So I'm looking for feedback, ideas, bugfixes, possible suggestions as to what to add or how it can be improved.
Give it a look if you have time.

EDIT: By the way... there is a bug in the GridMovement that I am trying to work around, that lets you wander infinitely without events happening. This is unintended. Just take it one step at a time, please. Hopefully I'll have a fix soon.

Cheers!  Beer!

I don't swear, but the word suited the joke. Force of habit.

EDIT: Curious... if I had left out the 'u' entirely, no one would have noticed. Oh you internet

Essentially.

I suppose that makes company game development a clusterf*ck.  Giggle

Indie is doing it yourself.

Even if you do it with friends.

I'm also interested. But I'm curious as to what it entails.
Just filling out the text in general, or writing the whole plot?
Either way, I'll send an email along.

...what kind of Sci-fi writer? Because I might be interested.

Anyway, what I am working on is fixing the fact that ONE stupid object got deleted and deleted all instances of its use and it is used roughly every 0.28 seconds in my game. So. Yeah.
2358  Player / Games / Re: HOLY CUSS, GUYS! SPELUNKY HD SCREENS! on: March 09, 2010, 10:52:29 AM
My suggestion? Keep the grid feel. It makes far more sense for gameplay and makes events extremely clear.

I also humbly suggest that there be an ability to zoom further out, as the screen seems to be smaller (or maybe it's an illusion.)
