here is a little explanation image while I'm working on backend.

Is this your concept art or someone else's?  Is the game's art yours or someone else's?  I ask because there's a clear difference in quality, it looks like two different people made each.

The concept art is also a work in progress, I'm understanding? I think the shape on her jacket is outstanding, and I'm going to assume that the roughness elsewhere are just works in progress.

Being a good artist with concept work informs the improvement in sprite work and vice versa, but sprite work and concept art work also showcase different skills and talents of an artist! I would say that our artist has the opposite problem, where he's very comfortable with concept art and sketches, but when working with sprites--it's still taking a lot of practice making them look nice.

My Word!  Waaagh!
Wow, those backgrounds are amazing!
In general, everything looks amazing. I don't think you'll have any problems reaching your funding once you launch your kickstarter. Keep up the good work, I'll definitely be following you guys.

Thanks! Not gonna lie, we are so worried about our kickstarter... Concerned but I think that if following your dreams scares the hell out of you, you owe it to yourself to try! I mean, I'm new to this forum but I'm loving it! It's super inspiring seeing creative people making things they love and believe in!

Oh wow, He draws like Kim Jung Gi! :O Awesome!
Bryce says you are right on! BTW that is a compliment of compliments. Kim Jung Gi is godlike.  Cry That was totally Bryce's inspiration-- he has two of his artbooks and was watching Kim Jung Gi's videos for DAYS. DAYS.

Looks so beautiful  Shocked
Thank you! We hope it's fun to play too.  Smiley

The world needs more Miyazaki games! I love the Nausicaa vibes, looks great!
Right on! We were inspired by the fantasy/medieval-like world. The huge insect creatures are a definite intentional tribute to the movie we love, but if you can believe it, the bad-ass girl in a blue cape was entirely coincidental and when we finished the sprite we were like damn. Nausicaa lives in our subconscious Crazy...

Looks very cool! First gif also reminds of "Children Who Chase Lost Voices"
Thanks! I personally have not seen that movie but it is DEFINITELY something I should check out.  Coffee

Very impressive! I just watched your kickstarter trailer, actually-- very nice gameplay+story reveal there! I'm definitely hooked for more. How did you make those huge gifs?

thank you Smiley I don't recall there being any big story reveals within the original kickstarter video. beyond that, some specifics around the story have changed a bit in the year since then, as the game needed to be solidified and scoped out.

I use gifcam to make gifs (hard to remember the url so just google "gifcam"). limited options but also very very simple and functional!

What I mean is the hints of story within - most trailers I've seen just want to use all the minutes the gameplay and the universe but I appreciate the quiet moments in the trailer that are more contemplative, I guess.
Thanks for the gifcam tip too! I'm excited to try it out.

I was posting it on out devlog but I'd like to share it here!
Bryce Kho, our artist, had uploaded a timelapse video of a sketch that may or may not be in the kickstarter page:

He prefers traditional brush pen though, but that would be hard to record for long periods of time without a tripod.

Waaagh! AAAAAAAAAAAHHHH SO CUTE!! Just got linked to this from your comment! The aesthetic is so adorable! I know stylistically it has nothing to do with The Little Prince, but I'm reminded of it via super tiny rotating planets.
I look forward to seeing more of what you mean by thos DBZ attacks!  Hand Thumbs Up Left

If you guys want some active help in the player movement stuff, shoot me a pm and i might be able to help with some specific feedback.

EDIT:

Actually i'll do a proper writeup in a few hours when i get some time Smiley.

Yes! That is definitely a similar concern/feedback from some of our playtesters as well! Any guidance would be great! Also your idea for responsive environment would definitely enhance the experience of the game as well.

Your game looks beautiful. Hats off to the artist!

But most importantly, best of luck on the kickstarter.
If you would like critique on the kickstarter page before you launch it, send me an email.
I know I will be looking for help with that too, when the time comes.

Sure! We're still writing up our copy on the Kickstarter so we can definitely see if I can get a draft to you when it's ready. Your game seems like a really unique and fun multiplayer concept! Let's keep in contact through email.
