I made a new type of enemy that is connected to another nearby enemy and when you destroy one the other will deactivate and fall out of the sky.



These can be used to hit buttons or guards that they are floating over, but they can also be dashed through as they are falling, for example:



I'm going to show some other enemy types soon.

I'm still working on the art but it's still very rough.

I added in the ability to hang from ledges.



I'm thinking of making it so if an enemy comes close to the edge of the ledge you can throw him off of it, which will trigger slow motion and let you dash through them while they're in mid air so you can get to another part of the level. I still need to make the guards and stuff though so that won't be for a while.

I made a sprite for the guards:



It's my first try so I'm glad it even resembles a person :D. Any tips or feedback is very appreciated Smiley

So I added in electric walls that the player can't touch or they'll die. I haven't put together many levels with these yet so here is a gif of a pretty simple use of them:



I also added in these small gaps in the walls that can only be dashed through.



These will be fun when an enemy patrols over them and you can quickly dash in and out through these gaps without anyone else seeing you. I think I'll also use these for secret areas where you will have to dash through enemies and then through these little gaps to get to difficult to reach places.

That's all for now, I'm going to work on the enemies some more and hopefully get some new sprites done.

This looks pretty cool. Although I feel if the player can go through one edge of the screen to get to the other it might make it really easy to just stay away from the other player while you have the object. Will there be pickups or anything like that?

Hi Tigsource,

Dashing Ninja is a 2D platformer/stealth game.

Here's a gif - note most of the art is placeholder for now :



The main mechanic of the game is dashing (obviously :D ). The player can click to cause the character to dash towards the mouse cursor. Dashing will kill any enemies hit and will also be able to break through some surfaces. The player can only dash once unless they kill an enemy or land back on the floor, in which case they can dash again. The player can also jump off of walls but this does not reset the dash.

You can do some pretty cool stuff with this such as:



Combining the dashing and wall jumping can make some pretty fun scenarios. I have a few ideas to go with this such as electrified walls that you can't land on and cameras that will detect your movement and if you move too fast (or dash) they will spot you and alert others.

The game will be set in a futuristic city that has been taken over by a strict new leader. The city will be heavily populated by guards and security that the player will have to slip past without being seen.

The enemies shown in the gifs are like floating security cameras. There are going to be a few different variations of these and the player cannot stay in their line of sight too long of other enemies will be alerted. I have some ideas for other enemies such as guards with shields and if they spot you they can block your dash (which will probably get you killed by something else)

I'm going to attempt to do the art for this game myself so it's probably not going to be too good to start with but I'de love feedback so I can get better.  Hand Thumbs Up Right
