@Bad Sector. Indeed. However, there's a Wine application compatibility database here, which would be good to use and contribute to rather than duplicating effort: http://appdb.winehq.org/ (you do need to sign up for an account to contribute there though, by the look of it)

Hmm, I should add Mayhem Intergalactic to that list. Smiley

Nah, I just love the way your name sounds  Tongue
Heh. OK. That's sometimes my nickname, you see... if there's another Chris in a circle of friends, then I'll be Crispy. Smiley

Greetings, TIGgers. My name is Chris. In blatant violation of accepted internet protocol, I am using my real name (well, almost) as my screen name. Shock, horror!

I'm from Australia and I'm currently studying Computer Science at the Australian National University. When I'm not doing that, I'm making games and occasionally selling them. I do all the programming, and fake my way through the art and marketing. Currently the only game in the latter category is Mayhem Intergalactic, a streamlined turn-based "arcade strategy" game set in space.

Any attempt to list my favourite games would be rather futile, because I invariably fail to recall many of them at any given time. However, the Thief series is worth mentioning as one of my larger influences. I also liked, in no particular order: Deus Ex, Grim Fandango, Knytt, Age of Empires 1 and 2, Doukutsu Monogatari*, the original Half-Life (haven't played HL2 yet), Monkey Island (#3 for preference), Prey, System Shock 2, Starcraft, Starscape, and that game that comes with Ubuntu Linux where you match up tiles with coloured edges next to tiles with like-coloured edges in a predetermined configuration in order to fit them into a square tilemap (which I've now uninstalled because it was taking up so much of my time). For starters. Naturally, if I was going to give a proper list it would be much longer and take all day to write.

*AKA Cave Story.

Notable omissions from the above list include every console game ever, and any game that was released before the invention of the 386. Not that there's anything wrong with either of those categories, indeed far from it; I've just never owned a console, or any computer older than a 386. And the 386 was running OS/2. So you can see how that would be a problem.

No pictures I'm afraid, so that's all from me. Next!
