How can you blame someone for using a technique that works for them?

At first I thought the character was a rock golem/cyclops thing that always had its mouth open, now that I have seen the concept art it is still quite hard to think of it as a space suit. Out of all the concepts I dislike the one you picked the most. Other than that this game seems sweet and Id love to see you finish it!

Oh, great, now ducks look terrifying in a Neon Genesis Evangelion-esque "my face is just a simplistic mask" kind of way. Also, imagining ducks without their bills is giving the creeps. Thanks a ton!
Haha my pleasure!

I love the last 5 but it kinda looks like the demon/gargoyle thing should be at more of an angle like the others and perhaps a bit chunkier, maybe?
Thanks oddball and Balrog! Yeah its not as chunky on purpose because it is quite a weak enemy. You are right about the direction though, Ill have to tweak it a bit to see if I can make it more consistent, thanks

Hey are you that same guy that was showcasing a game about a naked guy with a fire extinguisher last year at the NLGD expo? I can recognise the style, why isnt that game in your list? It seemed awesome to play! :D

I kinda feel I might be getting better with lines, but then I look at how warbly they are and just smack myself, haha Are you using a wacom or a mouse? If you are using a mouse > buy a wacom! If you are using a wacom > make longer strokes and dont be affraid if they overlap, you can always delete them later. Right now you are using 4 strokes for a line that is perfectly straight, you need to practice controlling your pen better by making longer strokes.

Developer / Art / Who is working in the non-indie game industry?
|

I was just wondering if everybody here is indie, or if there are also people who are working in the more 'traditional' game industry?
I was wondering because a lot of the art here is amazing, and very inspiring, but I dont see a lot of art here that is typical for the non-indie game industry(3d stuff, detailed concept art pieces etc). Im curious if thats because this is more of a spawning ground for people aspiring to work in the conventional game industry, or if it is a deliberate style choice because indie projects are more about innovation than state of the art graphics?
