1  Developer / Business / Steam Vs Xbox Creators program on: March 10, 2018, 02:51:22 AM
Has any small time indie dev released both on Steam and Xbox Creators Program at the same time?

I want to port my game to the Creators program but I want to know if it's worth the licencing fees and a purchase of retail Xbox One.

Lets say for the sake of argument there is no promotion or marketing involved and we are relying on pure Algorithmic sales only. Is Xbox Creators Program's Algorithmic sales at least as good as Steams. What about Windows Store?

Basicly what I'm asking is, if I sell 1 copy/day on Steam. would I also be Selling 1 copy/day on Xbox Creators Program?
2  Community / Townhall / Do I make new Greenlight! on: February 22, 2015, 09:17:36 AM
A few months ago I uploaded my Game on Greenlight, back in that time The game artwork looked like the drawings of a five year old and therefore I got 88% No votes from 1400 votes. but now after 84 days I finally have brought my game to a visually appealing level and most people that I have shown it to say that it looks like an entirely different game and lots of positive feedback.
My question is, should I remove my game from Greenlight and make a new one to regain the votes, or do I stick with the one I have and focus my marketing on it?

You can see the Before and After of my game on this Facebook thread:

Quick question. If I have placed my game on Greenlight, would it be wise to inform the audience about the game's Release Price?

Thank you "Quicksand-S" for your constructive criticism, i have noted your writings and will improve the game as much as i can.
About the title thought, "Raiders League" is an organisation, much like "Mages Guild" or "Fighters Guild" from the Elderscrolls series, it does not require apostrophe, same goes for Heroes Island.

6  Community / Townhall / Do I have to make Kickstarter? on: November 24, 2014, 03:27:08 PM
Do I have to make a Kickstarter?
I am going to put my game in Greenlight soon but something that I have noticed is that most people who uploaded their game on Greenlight also make Kickstarter.
To be honest I am in no rush of making money, but it seems that Kickstarter helps with "attracting people", so for that reason I am willing to make a Kickstarter.
But the rewards are a big problem for me too. I have looked at most successful Kickstarter projects, they have around 10-20 different variety of rewards, and i don’t have much to offer, The best I can do is, “Digital copy of the game”, “10 days early access”, “Name in credit section”.
Finally, the last thing that bothers me is that if the Kickstarter fails, it remains as bad reference in the internet. So if one day I become the most successful game designer in the world with five game of the years awards and three MMORPGs. People are going to laugh at me and say, haha... your first Kickstarter failed!
So my question is, Do I make Kickstarter for the sake of publicity and attraction, or do I just stick with Greenlight.

Here is the DRAFT of my Kickstarter, I haven’t launched it yet:

Hello.
My name is Johnny Ostad and I have been playing around with Gamemaker Engine since 2010. My goal is simple. Write a story and tell it in as many ways possible.
The first chapter of my story is Raiders League: Heroes Island, after that i will work on sequels, prequels, spinoffs and I will even expand the story to other forms of media such as novels, graphic novels, motion picture films, etc.

If you are interested in my projects follow me on twitter:
