Yay, another platypus game!
I'm liking your enthusiasm and all, but you do have to work on those tiles. Goin' great besides that!

Thank you Smithy, having your first-hand experience to learn from will prove to be invaluable. Do not worry - your story shall be told! During design sessions last night I think your influence was felt quite strongly - especially as there will now be more trucks and truck-related content than previously thought.
What about manly brawls, and face-fur? that material is pure gold. Anyways, sounds like you're going in the right direction, hope you finish in time!

As some of you may know yesterday was TIGSource's game night. After some Jet Set Willy: Online an iSketch server was hosted and craziness ensued. Although innumerous masterpieces were created I only managed to capture 4, since I was too busy randomly guessing words. First off: The Bluefish, a perfect example of clarity. The Shell, not quite an example of anything (yes, the word was "shell"). The Gangster, a true masterpiece, filled with intense drama. And, my personal favorite, the Clayman!(aka Gingerbreadman aka Herpes man).

I must say I'm not into the kind of games you're making here, but if you wanna listen to advice from a very lousy gamer I would say shorten the levels. I was playing the first level and it seemed hard, but I managed to get past it. Now, when I saw the second level I immediately wanted to give up. The thing (IMO) that makes N addicting is that no level, at least the earlier ones, take too much time. In your game one level takes a lot, especially because you have to wait for the enemies to stand up and all. I really liked the platforming and the sounds, I just think you could either add checkpoints or shorten the levels. One idea that struck my mind is that it would be interesting if the character occupied 2 tiles instead of 1 (like the enemies) and managed to crouch, because trying to shoot in mid-air got pretty tiring. I hope you don't take my criticism the wrong way, you can just discard it if you want, since I'm very bad at platformers.

Lookin' good, although you could work on some (many) of the animations. Off Topic: Does this mean puit wars is dead? My troops were ready and stuff

Petri Purho is so indie he made a reply to this thread in an interview. I’m so indie that I’d rather starve to death than accept your dirty corporate money. And... I'm so indie I have magenta anti-aliasing artifacts.

Rinku = Japanese word for Link, my friend Komera suggested I use it as a username because we both liked the Zelda games.
+
Hero = I co-founded a group of folks with the goal of saving the world through the arts, for a time we all used "Hero" as a suffix in our user names; there were HarlockHero, NovaHero, RinkuHero, etc.
You were quite an ambitious bunch, weren't you? :D

Just a random name out of my old history book, apparently Massena was the name of a general who tried to conquer Portugal and failed miserably. I have owned tons of fish nor do I plan on getting one.
What's up with that sentence? Did you forget your negative? edit: I didn't read hamster's post! :D

Replace "looser" with "amateur" and that's how I feel about that article. It's cool to be an amateur (although in my case it's just cool to play amateur games, since I haven't made one) and making silly games is the only way to learn how to make games, so I don't get why the author is so angry at silly games with flashing geocities pages.
And I do think the article is kinda offensive to the people who just want to make games for fun, for the heck of it.
Edit: "the amateur game is the guy standing outside the window without his pants on." What's that even supposed to mean? Amateur games have no pants?

Full-screen doesn't seem to work. At least, not on mine, either. It's actually alt-enter to change from full screen. Also, it's official; I'm shit at shit game Thanks, I managed to play the game, only to discover it doesn't work, in many ways. Gotta love the music, though.

The game didn't quite work for me, but I guess that's just part of the experience. But seriously, I can't see the right and the bottom ends of the screen, the whole screen isn't centered and alt-tab does nothing! :D My screen resolution is 1024x768, if that might be causing the problem.
