I played the game maker version of this game and I have to congratulate you on improving it dramatically! The most striking things are the graphics. They are beautiful  Kiss . The game also feels nice and I love the landing mechanic. My only gripe is that its hard to fall past clouds when your to high up.

Okay I've rephrased my question. Is it possible to pack .xml files into a swf and then load them without using the [(embed='')] tags.
203  Developer / Technical / Re: external scripting on: October 25, 2010, 06:21:35 PM
Thanks guys for clearing up my definition of embedding. I see now that is basically impossible.
204  Developer / Technical / Re: Best way to save/load a random forest? on: October 23, 2010, 07:01:16 AM
Look into seeds(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Random_seed) if you haven't already and consider just saving those.
205  Developer / Technical / external scripting on: October 23, 2010, 06:34:12 AM
Hi i'm trying to make an external scripting language in as3 using xml. I've got most of it figured out but I'm running into trouble with as3's file loading. I want the file loading to be dynamic and flexible like with the urlloader but at the same time I want to pack the files into the swf. Is this possible?

Defintaily love the colors! The game itself is sometimes difficult and sometimes easy I also find it kind of luck based. But it achieves a really relaxing atmosphere and it is really a pretty fun time waster first time around!

Hey Sparky great work! It really reminds me of the landscape in sim city. I don't know if your into sharing technical details but I've been trying to create something similar http://www.swfcabin.com/open/1284004338 but I can't quite get the perspective right and would love to know how you did it. Right now I'm just interpolating between a right side preceptive and a top down perspective. I'm very sorry if you feel this is the wrong place for this question or if you don't want to share code.

Interesting game, I really enjoyed the atmosphere! The only thing was that the talking was to easy to complete. You can defiantly take this further and I'd love to see a full length game based on it!

Have the roller coasters been added yet I saw them in the video and they looks sweet!
211  Developer / Playtesting / Re: Ninja Convention on: August 21, 2010, 06:37:45 PM
Glad you both enjoyed it!
It seems to me that the other ninjas only go in one direction and then stop before going in another. This way you can find out which is yours without shooting.
Actually they sometimes will switch direction before pausing. The way I always find myself is by going right until I see a ninja stuck on the right side of the screen. There are also a few other subtle differences between the A.Is and the players here they are:
-Players can move diagonally.
-Players can go further off screen then A.Is before meeting the boundaries.
You can also uses these to figure out who you and the other player are.

Thanks guys glad you enjoyed it!
@allen Yup spy party was defiantly an inspiration but I hope I didn't make the game to similar!

Here it is: you can download it here http://dl.dropbox.com/u/17368315/NinjaConvention.zip
Its a 2 player stealth game based around both players using the same screen.
Instructions
PRESS ENTER TO START and skip replays
The goal of the game is to kill the other player.
Player 1 uses the arrow keys to move and enter to shoot.
Player 2 uses WASD to move and space to shoot.
There are two parts to this game:
Part 1: When the game begins neither player knows which ninja they
control they must figure it out (try shooting).
Part 2: Once a player has found themselves he / she should start hunting the other player.

Nice especially for a first flash game! I played through the entire thing and had a couple thoughts about it. The par number should be displayed somewhere in the game it would help people who want to get it. Also the game was just too easy thought the eyes were a good idea (maybe moving enemies). The graphics could also use some work(not the editor graphics but the in game) Anyways lots of potential look forward to seeing this in a more polished state!

I'm sorry to disappoint you all but I don't like how this game turned out and a few last minute bugs have popped up so I'm canceling this. But if you are curious to how this turned out I will release a stable beta tomorrow.

This is sooooo amazing  Epileptic . I just finished playing it for 2 hours straight. I have to say my favorite game so was was Hogger. Kind of sorry I got it free because you worked so hard on it. My only wish for this game is for more mini games but its great just the way it is as well.

Just finished the demo and I was totally amazed. The physics, sound effects and graphics created a dark and mysterious atmosphere. Lots of parts of the game are trial and error which is defiantly not a bad thing (makes for plenty of jump scares). Unfortunately the demo is kind of short so I can't give a full option yet. Also you should turn up the sound while playing.
