I'm with glyphmasta. To get the maximum enjoyment out of it, take turns playing it with a friend. Will work wonders.
This game is really fun in a very slapstick way, you just gotta swallow your pride. Also it's not all that impossible anyways, you just play until it doesn't appeal to you anymore, then you turn it off. Greg, srsly, there's no point in arguing that it's a worthless game if you haven't played it, just because you know about the premise. It's not a complete shit game without merits, it's a kinda fun game that fucks with you in a way that's fun for some! Me included. I'd never try BEATING it though!

Haha today/yesterday I was the flamebait. Didn't mean to.
I have only one empty place in my soul and that's where the 4chan memes reside. The rest is filled with fluffy fuzz. Anyways, irrelevant even though the thread in itself is irrelevant. Whining about other people's whining doesn't really stop the whining I guess, heh.

YOUR and YOU'RE are different things! As are THEIR and THERE! I'M LOOKING AT YOU, NATIVE ENGLISH SPEAKERS WHO CAN'T SPELL!
ALSO: No LOLs, ROFLs and such. And no 4chan memes. Many of us here can not stand them. And NO HUGE GRAPHIC SIGNATURES!
YOU ARE WRONG! Not about first thing OBVIOUSLY can't stand those misspellings seriously what is wrong with that anyway. BUT THE SECOND ONE WHAT THE HECK. You can fight the faggotry that is the ingnorance and complete apathy that is /b/ posting but the ACTUAL stupid jokes that come out of it, can you please just stand them for a while. I think shoop da woop face is hilarious because it's SUDDEN INAPPROPRIATE BLACKFACE that shoots LASER. And for some reason the whole phenomenon is called SHOOP DA WOOP. It breaks my brain and then my brain is broken and happy. There are lots of inappropriate things that are fun and this seriously just one of them. On the other hand I think everything that involves laser is cool so whatever. BUT YES I still agree and that's what annoys me. Just accepting the /b/ness and just saying YEAH THAT MINDSET IS A-OK AHUH GUYS is something I never want but please let people use some harmless rofls and zomglols and whatnot, goddamnit, that's not what defines a person anyways. I think IE will display the sprite as exessively slow.
And yes, I wouldn't use my edit in a game so no, it was just a little experiment trying to convey a more speedblurry run.
Alongside with the other sprites it just looks weird : D

New animation for my project. The speed-character this time: I tried to give her a Sonic-like runcycle. I edited it : D Super sloppy. Just doubled the framecount for zooom running fluidity and made the feet draw the lines they ran in just to try the effect. : D

Annabelle: Everything about this picture is ACE, so lots of love from me there. (creepyjad go)
No, but for crits! These are nitpicks!
First, there are two skulls that strike me as kinda copypasted, which sucks a bit if you stare at the image too intensely.
Secondly, I see what kind of style element it is, but the guy's eye still feels like it's sitting just a wee little bit too <-wards, making him look a bit cyclops-like ): Which is a bummer because he's so damn badass, I want his CRUSHED EYE-ness to read well!
Otherwise it's dang awesome and I wish you could just tell me about how you use photoshop because I hate learning, I just wanna steal techniques ):

No matter how I think about it, it's still for me just the same bird copy-pasted thrice. Either you'd redraw it, or just have one bird (which I like) or I just don't get something O:!

^Agreed 100%, as long as general movement around screen is coherent, the brain will probably piece everything together as 'smooth'.
Anyways I'd say try to begin the slide with one or two very quick transitional frames. Be sure that the first transitional can still be read as 'slide', then quickly go down into slide and then you can use some frames to create good release for the action.
Anyways my one tip is: Try implementing a single slide w/transitional frames and work from that. If it works right away then by all means go with it, if you see problems, isolate them, post them here and then go ahead with that.

Nah, you just make the transitional frame work generally from all the running frames and play it really fast. Or nah, but that's what I'd do.

I'm just saying, "の" is a grammatical particle that denotes the relationship between the two nominals "ゆめ" and "にっき," meaning with would be "dream's diary" or "diary of dreams" which is more grammatically correct in the Japanese language.
Not more gramatically correct, just the difference between "diary of dreams" and "dream diary". Also it wouldn't be more correct to use kanji than using hiragana, that's all just up to stylistic choices. Oh, and for everyone who's not into japanese, sorry about the japanese.

I don't do genres. My music is categorized entirely by the atmosphere, environment and feeling it's supposed to portray, e.g. 'a wet cave, somewhat calm but mysterious and a bit creepy; very groovy; chip instruments'.
How the hell could I fit all that in a single word?
Genres are never a single word! You just stack'em until you're done! Subterranean Chip Funk Ambiance! : D Genres are there so we can fuck with them, also to give us a good chance to conform, that is, give ourselves some boundaries so we can push them. I love this world filled with rules and boundaries, there's so many borders to cross, so many definitions to break (: Right now though I'm trying to get into simple jazzy/funky tonality so I don't try to nonconform before I have any idea what I'm trying not to conform to, heh.

Peoples listening to the tracks on here and thinking 'humm, but this is dance-floor dig dig chiptune, won't go well in my games', think again dudes : D
It's totally obvious that mrspastic guy here is a very talented guy who plays with harmonies and rhythm in a very competent way, so he'll probably be able to conform to certain style choices that your game might need.
Just saying : D
I'd dig a mr spasticified game soundtrack anyday! ; D

I like genres, when you've established one, it's suddenly clear to you how to break it in the most effective way : D
I started making music when I was 12ish I think (I'm 21 now) but .. well..
How can I put it? I was playing around with standard soundblaster wavetable "synth" standard midi patches, which was nice since I was obsessed with chrono trigger, final fantasy and that kinda midi-orchestral sound (:
I never really listened a lot to music, I mean, of course I did, but I didn't try to identify genres and mimic/try and fit into those sounds, so when I got my hands on some soundfonts I mostly started making .. err .. ambient songs with hip-hop drums. You know the deal, the kinda things that happen when you're obsessed with tonality and rhythm.
Well, then I went back to midi-only orchestrich sounds, writing tunes to my the dream games that resided in my head, and that was it.
Until the summer 2008 when I realized I needed to become a dance music composing person.
Rhythm. Tonality.
Reason 4.0 downloaded I decided there are 2 things I wanna make.
1: Disco. You know. Dance music that more or less drips with bouncy funkiness. I wanna score a game with a super catchy electric disco soundtrack. Actually I will.
2: Chiptune. You know, just ignore the whole 'break out of the video-game-music mould' movement and try to just DIVE into the whole concept of game soundtracks of old, try to find the special sounds and harmonies that make our nostalgia strings vibrate, then go from there and try to make the best old-school video gamish music ever. Sadly I'm too lazy to even buy a LSDJ cart so we'll see how that ever goes, heh.
OH, and 16-bit ffs. Oldschool lowres samples ala SNES and FM-bending ala Mega Drive (: Pulse waves rule my world and taught me about music (srsly I learned how to use harmonies from game boy games) but maaan, the nostalgia for me lies in the SNES and SEGA sounds.
3: Combining the two (commonly heard quote: "sounds like sonic") You know. Rock hard electro disco chiptune 16-bit lazer extravaganza. It's my mission right now. I don't know how well it's going but I'm trying to struggle forward. I hope it'll go well!
Err.. keywords.
Laser Disco
Bossa Nova
Japanese French Kitsch (shibuya-kei)
Nostalgic Kitsch Chiptune
16-bit bomb beats
err
I dunno. D: I guess I should just make some music.
Hey kekskiller, how about actually linking to tracks in a purely illustrative purpose? that is to say, something that directly relates to the text you're writing, and definately now dumping all your songs as advertisement? I think that'd be nice.
.. Oh and sorry for ranting. I'm thinking of coming back to this thread later when my head works better and try to break it down a bit more. I don't think the thing that rocks my world is what rocks other people's worlds so they might not even have heard about it.
So things might be hard to explain. I think I'll dissect one of my songs next post and try to explain the influences and then place it in a genre. Would that be OK, kekskiller? : D
