Hello Everyone

I am seeking an cartoonist/game designer who can draw or paint up concept art for a platformer I am making called Flare: The Pyro Saga.

https://forum.yoyogames.com/index.php?threads/flare-the-pryo-saga.44314

What I am looking for are backgrounds in which are tillable and can loop. The background inspiration I am trying to go for is something in a lines similar to Rayman Legends, Wonderboy: the Dragon's Trap(Remake) and the stylized backgrounds from Ren and Stimpy. I am going to be painting the final assets and backgrounds, but I am seeking someone to come up with a visual idea for the backgrounds for the levels. I been struggling for years and I need someone to help me out a bit so I can push my game forward.

If your interested in the job, message or email me at [email protected]  with your commission rates and prices and I will try to get back with you as soon as possible. My gmail is

Some more progress. It is still very early, but we are getting somewhere with it. I hope to add more in the upcoming weeks:)

Should have posted this last week, but didn't.

This is starting to come together. This isn't the final art through and everything could change, but there is where the background and art direction is heading to. Composition wise, there needs a lot of work between Flare and the background objects because they need to be bigger.

If anyone has suggestions, please let me know.

UPDATE: Submissions are closed!!!

I found someone to compose the soundtrack for our beat em up. I would like thank you all who applied and set their portfolios. it was a blast to listen to everyone's music.

Hello Everyone

I am an artist/animator who is working on a hand drawn beat em up video game inspired by Muramasa: the Demon Blade, Rayman Legends and classic cartoons(Looney Tunes, Ren and Stimpy, Popeye).

https://forums.tigsource.com/index.php?topic=64325.0

I am looking for a composer who can do a variety of different styles of music(orchestral, jazzy, classical, electronic), but can also capture the feel of the art-style of the game. We are looking for at least 11-15 tracks for "Project Flare", but if there is a need for more, we can discuss everything later. If your interested, please email me at [email protected] or PM me here and send me your rates/commissions prices, etc and we can discuss everything in further detail.

Thank you for the interest Smiley

More progress on "Project Flare". We fleshed out the air combo a bit(which needs a ton of tweaking), added a few basic enemy types and added a health system. Everything is subject to change Smiley

Description:

Project Flare is a hand-drawn 2D beat em up akin to classics like Battle Toads, Streets of Rage, Muramasa but the visual style itself is akin to Saturday Morning Cartoons(Looney Tunes, Popeye, Ren and Stimpy etc).

The play-style will be a mix between Marvel Vs. Capcom, Muramasa, Bayonetta as Flare fights her way to 5 worlds while collecting some gems on the way to get rich. The plot/story is in the works, but we'll have more on that as development is further ahead.

You play as a young dalmatian lass named Flare as she punches, kicks and uses her amazing fire abilities to fight her way through 5 lands in search of the great King Karropt's "Ultimate Treasure". She isn't trying to saved the world or a prince or anything like that. She just wants to get the treasure so she can get rich and get some ganja(and help her grandparents).

But she is not the only one searching for the treasure. The Bugan army, a militia consisting of beetles and various goons, is runned by the fearful Lord Rhino,a rhinoceros beetle, who will stop at nothing to get the treasure for himself.

Progress:

The game is very early in development and we are still working on the basics but here is what we been working on:

The goal is to have 5 worlds/ 5 unique bosses with dozens of objectives for Flare to do in-between (bonus stages included). I want to include 7 worlds, but I will have to see depending on the time I have and the budget.  All of this is a very early WIP so the final art, designs etc will all change Smiley

It's only just 2 people working on Project Flare. I, myself as the artist/animator/background artist etc and Joe Ellis as the programmer. We do not know if we are going to hire anyone else for art, programming, etc because it can get expensive and it takes money, but if we do have some cash, we'll be looking on here and other places.

As you see We still have a long ways to go, but it has been a learning experience for the both of us and I hope to release a quality game when it comes to release.
10  Jobs / Offering Paid Work / 3D Artist Wanted - Rigging and Skinning[Paid] on: November 26, 2015, 02:43:26 PM
Hwy Guys

I'm looking for an 3D artist who can help me skin a model I been making so I can be ready for animation. I got the character modeled and rigged the body already, I just need to put weights on the character so shes about to move flexibly without any awkward movements. I might need some help with some extra rigging issues as well.

I'm mainly looking for someone who specializes in Blender3D, but any 3D program would so fine. If your interested, just message or note me and we can discuss everything in further detail.

I really like the concept of this, 50 ending. Wow, that's going to be a ton of work. I do like the simple designs of the characters, but make them more simplistic. I can see them with bolder lines. If you need some help designing them, I'd gladly help out. This can have a ton of potential:)

14  Developer / Art / Re: ASCENT Platform Game - Inspired by Crash Bandicoot, Spyro and Rayman - Thoughts? on: June 06, 2015, 06:32:57 AM
I actually like the character designs and the backgrounds for your game your making. There bright and cartoony:) The only thing I should change are the main characters eyes, they look kind of(I cant say generic, but more towards static). Like make one of the eyes oval-like to give them more variety and charm.

But overall, I'm liking how this is turning out.
