They could be collectibles.

Huzzah!

Dang.  I had not intended to play a game for an hour.

What is it about games involving trajectories that's so addicting?

First Worms Armageddon and now this...

Good stuff.  Any idea why my scroll wheel scrolls up and down the page while zooming in and out?

This game had better involve tying knots.  I'm descended from a long line of mariners and I demand at least twenty unlock-able knots.

I'm slowly working on the visuals, as of this moment
I'm trying to get enough sprites done to be able to make
a prototype. Of course, I'm no coder. And Nautica needs
a coder. Badly.

NAUTICA has found it's coder! Mr. Droqen will be helping me turn these mockups into an actual game.

But seriously, congrats!

A plastic 1 gallon jug.  Soon to be a make-shift incendiary device.

I do it with beer. Few beers, couple of mates and some games i've found on the internet. easy!

Cheers

Cheers!

This, most of the time.  Or I bring a couple over to a friends house on a flash drive and make em try a couple.  Enviro-Bear 2000 was a huge hit while I was getting drunk with some friends.

This game has all the charm of an insane asylum.

I like it very much.

The sound track is awesome really fantastically great.  I'm particularly fond of Leg Horse's neck stump.  The background can get pretty choppy when Phillip is moving around.  It's a little strange but I got used to it.  I found some PURPLE DRANK in a wall.

I don't usually like RPGs much but this is pretty cool.

Yeah.  I'm totally the middle guy in the top row.  He's definitely got my eyes.

I'm still impressed by FOnline 2238.  It's MMO Fallout classic.

It can be really frustrating when they reset the servers though.  Sad

You might consider checking out Jamendo.

I think most stuff on there is free under creative commons license and I expect plenty of the artists wouldn't mind you using their music so long as you're communicating with them.
571  Player / Games / Re: Games about Greek mythology? on: September 16, 2010, 02:43:49 PM
I've never been very good at real time strategy but Age Of Mythology was pretty cool.  Technically it's not just Greek mythology, though, since Egypt and Norse mythologies were the other "playable races".  I think they all had their own campaigns based on each respective mythology.

This game is INFURIATINGAngry

...I'm playing again.

I don't know if this could be called moved but I felt slight horrible from finding out how to body swap. Mostly for one has to cage themselves and leave their body behind to search for a new one and doing so means taking control of some innocent creature mind and body. The kicker is that you can go on massive killing sprees cause kings to get banish from their kingdoms and the blood is on others hands while you can swap back to your old body and walk away. Yet this does make creating scenarios for folks to play out fun. Like rigging a evil cult of demon followers to want to sacrifice your son to feed a demon.

Dang!  I wasn't even aware you could do that!  I gotta play Dorf Fortress again.

Experiencing my first tantrum spiral in Dwarf Fortress was heart breaking. That game does such an amazing job making you attached to your characters, despite its complete lack of "planned" storytelling.

Ah, no kidding.

My first game of Dwarf Fortress.  The game where I didn't know that spacebar was pause.  The game where I spent as much time reading through the wiki as I did playing.

Learning enough of the game to be confused as to why none of the dwarves were moving.  Finally discovering that you can look at wants and needs of dwarves. Realising that while I was learning the controls every single one of my dwarves had become immobile with hunger and there was nothing any of them could do to survive.  It's not often that a game will make me feel like I'm watching world news.

And since it hasn't been said, Oddworld - Abe's Oddysey.  I never even finished the game but something about that first intro cut scene gives me goosebumps every time I see it.

Damn.  I should really order those on ebay or something.

This looks interesting.  I think I get some idea of the game play from the rules but I'd really like to sit down and try it, though I don't know that I'll have time.

Also, at least in the v0.2 of the rules, you're misspelling "resource".

158's my best out of three games.

Also,

I've forgotten how to blink!  MY EYE'S ARE LIKE A DESERT!

I like the angular or round display rifles the best.  I guess I'm a little confused with the weapon design, actually.  From the description I expected over the top weapons to go along with comic violence.  When I tried out the web build I was a little surprised that the laser rifle looked so serious and military.

Don't get me wrong.  The models look good.  Professional, even.  I just think it's a little strange to see realistic weapons in a game with cartoon style characters and comic violence.

That said, I think it could work out if the lowest level weapons were semi-serious and as they get higher level they get more over the top.

Going from this:

It is really hard to tell what everything does.  Perhaps include a brief walk through in the readme?  All the legal stuff doesn't help me play the game any.
579  Developer / Playtesting / Re: Landscape / Erosion Toy on: September 11, 2010, 10:07:21 AM
I've heard of Terragen, but I didn't know until a few days ago that it had erosion tools in it.

Ah, actually now that you mention it the original Terragen didn't have anything in the way of erosion.  The original World Machine has a couple of erosion algorithms along with the ability to create your own erosion methods through macros, which is something I'm totally unfamiliar with.

I know new versions of both Terragen and World Machine have been out for a number of years, but both were so incredibly complicated and time consuming that I never got into them.

Man, your visuals are beautiful.

I know the character design isn't really in question here, but still, I gotta say I'm really pleased with the bulky environmental suit as opposed to something along the lines of Samus's power suit.  It makes me think it's chock full of life support and information gathering devices.  I think it'd also give the feeling of being somewhat vulnerable in a hostile environment.

I mean, just imagine exploring in one of these.  Man, that'd be intense.

Which brings up something I was curious about.  What were you imagining the movement speed would be?  From the animation it looks appropriately slow and clunky.  That could get frustrating, though, if there's a lot of traveling long distances.
