Well, I was trying something like this: Also, I'm not sure about the hair color, which one do you guys like better? I think the one in the middle would be the best for an actual Game Boy game since it would always stand out from the background, but I also like the other two.

Guys, help. I can't get the crown right ;_; Any suggestions? It's pretty painful to ask for help when you guys can make something like this: That's just awesome.

I hated this period in the nineties when every platformer had a mascot and a ice level and a toys-themed level and a cakes-themed level, etc, etc...It was terrible
I loved those ;_; * NPCs in RPGs will always say the same phrase, no matter how many times your press A. * Absurdly difficult CPU (practically every 2D Mortal Kombat game). * Making a fighting game deliberately unbalanced for the sake of storyline (like those Dragon Ball Z fighters, you just can't expect to defeat Goku with Chaotzu).

You can't beat the gyms in any order because the gym leaders are progressively stronger. It wouldn't make sense to fight a level 12 Pidgeotto with your level 65 Feraligatr. It'd be nice if the gym leaders' Pokémon levels were calculated in relation with your current team, but then there would be no point in leveling up. Just capture six level 5 Pokémon and you can defeat any gym.

I don't think Pokémon games have/need a plot. Pokémon is about cathing, training, getting badges, etc. In fact, I find the more story-driven parts of the game (like the Team Rocket Lake of Rage/Radio Tower thing in HGSS) less fun than simply progressing through the game.

I don't think they'll ever have a second save file, especially if you have to choose between two important Pokémon (like Kabuto/Omanyte in Red/Blue).

Guys, I just wanted to say this thread is absurdly awesome, you're all really talented. I especially love the Gameboy-like mockups. Keep the fantastic job, everyone.

I guess I just don't care about the kiddie stigma. Most kids around here actually prefer Halo or GTA over games like Kirby or Pokémon anyway.

All the competitive Pokémon players I know are at least in their early to mid twenties >_> Pokémon is like Mario, it has universal appeal.

Well, at least every Pokémon is redrawn in every new game (including remakes and special editions). It's not as bad as Capcom's Street Fighter Alpha / Darkstalkers sprite recycling
