originally we made plans to make a rogue like FPS in kind of an "Alien" setting. now I've just worked on a pure shooter, where waves of enemies(cubes ) attack you, like bullet hell. waves getting bigger and enemies stronger, you only delay your death. It's working, but not really polished. I found picoCAD, I think I will learn to create art with it for LD51 Looking forward to play your game, I'm hyped it will be funny. No Pressure!

I feel like someone might want to hijack the system, by creating 1k accounts since LD49 and then pushing some random silly theme, Echoes.
anyway, these are the 10 from the 3rd round: Sky pirates Teleportation Tunnels Space is limited Echoes You are the power source Overgrown Crossroads Repair Branching out Momentum A single resource Strength in numbers Decay Treasure Map Fill the void Combine

oh, you are right! I haven't noticed that before you mentioned it. Maybe someome proposed it 3 times and it got voted up by the same people every time. We'll see when round 3 is up Here are the options for round 2: Some assembly required Playing both sides Fragile One use only Replication Mutation Automation Delay the inevitable Layers Corruption Color is a mechanic Overflow Echoes You control the environment, not the character Leave something behind Snowball effect A faithful companion

I prefer to be surprised by the theme so I never suggest anything. oh, yeah, being surprised by the theme is nice, I agree does it mean, you also don't vote to not see the top30 and top10 candidates? Maybe I should take your approach, cause usually I feel like the worst candidate won

Developer / Technical / Re: Box collision with array of tiles

I would cut the blue box by all red boxes and fit a plane along the cut area (just approximate). The normal of that plane would be the direction I'd push the blue box.
There are many ways to approximate the plane e.g. 1. store the plane of every cut contact point, in the end, average these. 2. calculate the centroid of all remaining contact points and use that and the center of the blue boxs to calculate a plane 3. run 10 iterations: take 3 random conact points, calculate a plane, calculate the delata of min/max distances of all contact points and keep the plane with the smallest delta.
Cutting might sound complex, but if you cut with one plane/side of the box at a time, dividing into an "inside" and "outside" part, keeping only the "outside", it's manageable.

Jobs / Collaborations / Re: Engine project looking for collaborators

I guess posting in forums attracts talk but no action well, you asked for talk My questions for you are: 1) As a reader of these forums: Are you interested in this at all? Do you want to learn more? Is this a project you'd contribute to? How would you contribute to it? Does it have value? 2) Do you have any idea how I might avoid it hitting the bin? How can we keep this open source from being just another pile on the heap? How can a community form around it? And you probably don't like to hear that there is no interest in your engine. (Reply to Question 1). If I had to look at an engine source, I'd probably prefer something that shipped big games. idTech, Source engine, UE4 etc. I understand you like your engine, but from our perspective, there are just too many, far better choices, unless you prove us wrong and showcase a reason to look at your engine. And those few that like writing engines, probably prefer to work on their engine, not yours (just like you'd probably wouldn't want to drop yours to work on a random engine).
