Cell is a predominantly first person single player horror game with some elements of survival horror and roguelike games intertwined with it. It draws inspiration from games like Amnesia and Slender Man, and works by H.P. Lovecraft. It features puzzle-solving, hiding mechanics, some resource management, and traditional horror gameplay. It's set in 2017 inside an abandoned 1970s mental hospital (insane asylum) and you play as a 15-year-old guy equipped only with his cell phone. Using the various apps on their phone the player has to escape the asylum after being trapped inside by an evil little boy who haunts the building.

Developer / Business / Recruiting for Interactive

Hello, I'm a representative of the new formed indie developer Interactive. As a start developer, we're looking to develop our very first simplistic game. Nothing too hard to accomplish as our very first project. Our goal is to make a game around these guidelines: Single Location. Endless. Competitive (translate to immersion). Easy to play but hard to master. The Game: It's located in the jungle with a set of vines and a time clock. The vines acts as a sort of safe haven, considering if you let go you drop to your imminent death. When the clock hits zero, a blizzard comes bursting through--attempting to loosen the grip players have on their vine. Players will have to button smash a key command as fast as they can in order to survive. When the blizzard stops, players are able to traverse through the vines to collect power boost that'll make the next round my durable. Note that the position players take on the vine/rope actually matters. Physics will be in play here. If players are at the bottom of the room, it'll be harder to survive and they'll have to button smash two times harder to survive. Team: We're looking for: - Programmer - 2d Artist - Animator - Level Designer Platform: Android and Steam (looking to expand) Reward: What's in it for you? Is experience too cliché to us? I'm pretty sure it is haha. But it's honestly the top tier thing we can offer. We cannot wholeheartedly promise you payment, but we do know and believe you are deserving of that honor. We'll give you what we can. Become part of the family and help us take our games to the next level. Ideas are valued here. To apply: [email protected] or [email protected]

Jobs / Collaborations / Looking for 2d Concept Artist
|
on: February 06, 2016, 09:21:40 PM
|
We are currently searching for a concept artist to join our team. We are developing a 2d competitive platformer for windows, Mac, Android, and iPhone. As concept artist, you will be tasked with drawing three iterations of the game in question. The art doesn't need to be beautiful or full of impeccable detail, but it does need to translate well. We have to know and understand what we're looking at. This is not a staff job or permanent gig, but you can stick around if you enjoy the experience. Maybe we'll call again for the second project we'll be developing. We are not rich, but we do appreciate the time, effort, and love you'll be investing into our project, so we'll pay you accordingly. Or, at the very least, what we are able to pay. Send in any past work or art you would like us to see. If you don't have anything recent to show, we'll just give you a little drawing assignment before briefing you about the project. Thank you. I wish you the best of luck and look forward to your artwork. Email: [email protected]

Community / Writing / Writer Seeking Collaborative Work

Hello. My name is Carlin Michel and I'm pretty new to this forum. As the subject line suggest, I'm seeking a collaborative effort to create a new IP for a video game. My very first IP. I'm relatively new to this area, though I have dabbled with interactive interfaces such as twine and the like. Also, if it counts at all, I read a good amount of articles that explained the art of writing a video game script. Have a pretty good idea of what it entails. Further research shall be done.
In terms of story, I'm very familiar with structure, character arc, character revelations, dialogue, pacing, and pretty much everything else a story needs to work.
My dream is to write for all types of story for every facet in pop culture today. Video games being on the top of my list. Nothing like interactive story-telling; being within the experience instead of passively watching it is the ultimate joy.
This a free service I am providing--it would have to be with my lack of credentials haha. You could even consider me as a test run.
If you need writing samples, I'll be happy to provide. I'm also willing to cover any and all expenses for the foreseeable future. Though I am no where near rich, I can always find a way to provide if I really want something. Trust me, I really want this.
looking forward to the collaborative experience.
