I've just released a new game
Wizard Shitty Wizard Installer  Wizard
https://antonoti.itch.io/shitty-wizard-installer
A game about installing a game!

It's a silly thing I've been tinkering for far too long.

Cheers  Beer!

Update:

I've found a way to incorporate the Bridge framework into my projects.
To test my Idea I've made a small game playable in browser:
http://antonroy.fr/content/YACE/TestGame1/TestGame01/
Of course, it's not a really good game nor is it well coded.
But I now have a way to test my code in a browser witch is cool.
The idea is that it will be easier to find play tester if I people don't have to download anything to test my games.

Next step is :
Defining in my framework an event system for event such as "EndTurn", "CreatureDied", "PlayerAquieredACard".
Thoses event should be define by data.

Ongoing problematic:

I had started to make an UI for my mockup card game using WindowsForm.
Ideally I would rather do this with some kind of ImGUI library but I could not find one that provide a good ratio "Nice API" / "Effort to make it work".

Talking with a game designer we concluded that it might be a good idea to directly do web interface for mockup games.

I've found this supper technology called Bridge to transpile C# to JS. Making it work is a piece of cake.
Unfortunately I've discovered that in order to use my library with this tech, I have to change the project settings of the library.
This bother me, because that means it will be hard to make code that can run on servers.

An other approach would be to directly make the simulation code of my game run on a server. this way, if I want to make a client, I just have to  connect to localhost. The down side is it will be hard to make a game 100% embedded in a web page.

My current path is to see if it is easy to make a visual studio project that can switch between Bridge And no Bridge in as few click as possible.

I've thought about making a card game for a while.
After watching a GDC talk on the toolset of hearstone, I wanted to make a card game tool.
I've finally started to laydown some code.

This topic is for motivation and tracking purpose.
I don't expect to have a game to show for a long time since I'm mostly on the technical side of things.
I've got a full time job, this is a project on the side and I don't expect it to go fast.

The goals:
 * Provide a set of tools to make video card games in the style of hearstone.
 * Since one of my favorite game is Star Realms, the toolset should provide the ability to make deck building games.
 * 1 v 1 or 1 v Computer.
 * I want to do something data driven so it is easy for someone to invent new cards / rules.
 * Ideally, I want to make something that works in browser and on servers (to enable online multiplayer).
 * To force myself out of my comfort zone, I'd like not to use Unity. For now I still keep C# as a language.

If it turns out okay, I'd like to make the framework opensource.
There's not much to see yet

I can only admire your dedication.
Both the game and the devlog are amazing!
Not only are you making a game that seems really cool but also you are documenting the process with a magnificent precision.

Thank you so much

This last post really make me whant to try out making a game in C Smiley

This is a super nice game :D
I love the idea, it works really well
for now I'm stuck at the third ice level

I love the Idea :D
the game looks good and plays good  Hand Thumbs Up Right
the very first level might be a bit hard (It took me 6-7 tries on the frouth jump) I'd say at least for the first stage you could be a bit more generous  Smiley (it depends on wether you want to be retro in term of difficulty or not I guess ^^)

Hey!
You'll probably have a bit more testers if you described your game a little Wink

As for me, I've downloaded it but I have a screen all green at start and I can't do anything. I've tried turning on airplane mode but no changes (so I rule out at web request that take time to answer)

@monsterkillu I've uploaded a new version to try to make more obvious. if you have time i'de like to have your opinion on the thing Smiley
(also i've tried your mobile plateformer puzzle and it is interesting Smiley )

Ah, I feared it wasn't obvious enough
You are supposed to use the bank button to free the board

Sorry for the late response

I undertsand your point on the randomness of the loose condition. It has been a a splinter in my foot for most of the time on the project. But I want the games to not be endless for there must be a reason for players to come back.
Having a score (and achievements) means you can improve across multiple sessions.
You would like to find a way to make it feel less random, this is why There is the crunch button and the next button.

Ah sorry, Since you used term "App Store" I assumed you where on iOS.
If you use Android, you can already download the app through the itch.io app I posted
(the .apk file is the android application)

I know that if you go on the page using the chrome application, the installation is simple
15  Developer / Playtesting / Re: 8Links : A Puzzle game on: June 12, 2018, 12:19:51 AM
If you give me tour email adresse I can add you to the testflight (it's the apple beta test feature) you can dm me if you want Wink

The reason the game isn't published yet is because I intend to put a price on it, and for now, the game isn't finnished
16  Developer / Technical / Symbol Manager for Unity on: June 11, 2018, 01:09:06 PM
I've made a small tool for Managing symbols in my games
(for instance I often use #define to make debug version or trailer version)
since the code is not tied to my games and not to dirty, I figured I could share it Smiley

The art style works well (usually I dislike the "cute animals" style)
gameplay wise, it is not the most inovative but it works well for me Smiley
18  Developer / Playtesting / Re: Astro Astro - clone of Asteroids :) on: June 11, 2018, 02:44:08 AM
I Have trouble with the controls
I would like to turn without thrusting. is it possible in the current version ?
other wise, it looks really cool Smiley
19  Developer / Playtesting / Re: 8Links : A Puzzle game on: June 11, 2018, 12:30:32 AM
Ha thanks a lot Smiley
Adding a space after the 8 might clear the confusion

As for air dasher, basically I had the name "Dasher" from the start (since the game is about dashing) And I wanted to evoke the idea of quickness (whatever that mean)

A level editor would indeed be cool BUT I would take me to much work ^^
On the other hand, I might make the game 100% free and open the sources (I'm not sure yet)
20  Developer / Playtesting / Re: I'm presenting my own game and looking for somebody to promote it on: June 10, 2018, 11:17:38 AM
I'm gonna try your game Smiley
But you should add the arguments width=100 height=50 on your images in forums because on PC it does not looks good ^^ (also, You might consider using smaller images)
