I want to try and make a game where luck is necessary but not that much, and where skill makes the difference (like in chess). So units have a static damage, static speed and static abilities... Random numbers will be present only in the creation of the batllefield and in the creation of the units that will be available to buy...
I hope this can work!
Sir, thou rocks  I'd rather skill than luck in every single game. Totally agreeing.

By the way, even if everyone kills me after what I'm going to say, I like this new controls. Now it's faster to make different actions, and you can shoot while launching a bomb :D

I actually killed someone in a multiplayer game. Maybe I don't suck at them after all! Hi mum! I'm on tv a gif! Driving a plane and shooting upwards like a psycho! By the way, sometimes I can't change the shooting direction on a plane. There's a bug or am I Doing It Wrong?

Bombs & Knives. Indeed it's cooler than freezing guns and naylon threads :D
This looks totally rad. I really like that knife animation, and that bouncy bomb will create interesting tactics. Can't wait to see more :D

Btw, does anyone know how to deal with issues arising from having multiple keys pressed at the same time? I want to add more than 2 players but I keep getting keyboard conflicts and I really don't want players have to plug in or use any external hardware like pads or owt (I'm not sure flash can even do that)
Why not... Player 1: Keyboard (Z key) Player 2: Mouse (left mouseclic) ?

Edit Schmedit: Turned out the real culprit for the slowness is, who could guess, the network code. Yippee. I know quite much exactly what is causing it so much, but fixing it is an another matter entirely and I feel like I'll wait a bit and gather motivation before actually fixing it. Sorry everyone, I'm a wuss.   May or prays for awesome games motivate you?  Keep on the hard work! You can do it!

Thanks a lot!  I am currently working on getting the engine done enough that I can put a little test demo together for people to try while we iron out the rest of the content. I've also been working on the character graphics while Tumetsu is hard at work on some awesome background images and JMickle is putting together some killer tunes. I think the game is going to have one hell of a presentation when it is done and some great game play to match! Can't wait to try this! It looks awesome! Man, why do they have to make such an awesome competition while I'm on college exams? T_T

In the sprite sheet there are some boss monsters, will you be able to bid for them as well as the standard units?
Yes, the idea is that every race has a special unit (16x16 pixels): Golem for Humans, Cyclop for Orcs, Troll for Goblins, Ancient for Skeletons, Medusa for Nagas and Cattaur for Catfolks. Everyone can bid for them, but the idea is that they are more easy to control/give more bonuses if you have some units of their race (idk how this will work right now). And maybe I'll add some more big units not linked to a specifical race (in the spritesheet there are a Minotaur, a Wyvern, a Demon and a Treant). In the same way, maybe I'll add some "captains" that give bonuses to the units of their same race - but again not a big bonus; I like the idea that you can build and interracial army and I don't want to unbalance the auction system, we'll see... Love the sprites, and I'm a huge fan of turn-based strategy games, so  As a fellow never-finished-a-game-before you have all my support :D This competitions are awesome to keep oneself motivated :DD Keep up the hard work! BTW That ancient looks really cthulhu-ish xD And I've never heard about cattaurs before, so I just googled it. Interesting. Beta soon? :D
