It really depends on complexity and length. Good big orchestral tracks take time. You can spend 5-7 days perfecting 2 minutes of that stuff. For stuff like:

I use Soundtoys Plug-Ins on pretty much every project I touch.
I'm also a massive fan of Valhalla Freq-Echo - it's great for creating bizarre/magic/sci-fi sounds.

Yup soundtoys all day long. Decapitater can make almost anything useful sounding.

I love the Steven Slate Suite of plugins. The quality is mind blowing.

Between those 2 bundles I can do everything I want. mix/master etc

Hey! My name is Steven Harriton. I'm a composer. I've always loved games and over the past couple months have been trying to transition my career from TV/Film composer into the gaming world. Back in 2009 I work with my dad on the music for Civilization 3: Call to power. But since then I haven't done any games.
