My name is Omega,

I'm a professional developer by day, and a hobbyist game developer by night. I got into games when I was 14 and discovered an open source online rpg engine called ORE. I learned to code while trying to add new features to ORE. My favorite stack for making games is C#, MonoGame, PyxelEdit, and Tiled.

Though I've been trying for years, I've never actually released any game anywhere. I'm hoping to change that this year finally.  I'm a novice at pixel art, but I've been slowly getting better through practice and failed game projects (lol). I've been lurking around TIG for years now, but today is the first day I've had an account.

I would second the gravity feeling a bit to... fast? I feel that the fun in skateboard games comes from those few seconds where the player kind of floats at the top of the jump. I would recommend to go back and watch old videos of Tony Hawk to see how the physics look. You are off to a wonderful start, I can't wait to see what comes of this.

Hello,

I love the arcady feel to the game! I think that this is a good start and I think you have good ideas for how to make things fun for the player. The way in which you penalize the player for jumping out of bounds creates an interesting constraint for the player to follow. I would say that I feel like your typography is a little disjointed. It feels like you may have used different fonts for each type of text you wanted to display. That said, the font size was good for the screen size, and the colors help to create a sense of "look at me" when the player needed to pay attention.

Keep it up. I'd challenge you to sit down with the game and really think to yourself, "What can I do to take this one step further?".

Hello,

I just wanted to introduce myself. I've been lurking on the forum for years, and I finally decided it was time to make an account. I've always found this place to be an immense source of inspiration and learning and I hope to contribute back and perhaps finally get a game off the ground myself!  Smiley

Happy New Years!  Toast Left

EDIT: Meant to put this in the introduce yourself thread Sad Sorry
