Thanks, I haven't heard before about the Boss Fight series! It looks very interesting.
Two titles that always seem to come up on design are:
1) The Art of Game Design: A Book of Lenses - Jesse Schell
2) Game Feel: A Game Designer's Guide to Virtual Sensation - Steve Swink
I own both of them and love what I've read so far. For the last few months, I've beensadly ignoring diligently reading through them.
