I cannot think of any offhand, but there is Fabled Lands App. I'm sure I will think of some. King of Dragon Pass might count. I think RPGs might require some level of graphical complexity. How do you model things like movement and space without graphically showing them? There is an orc in the room. Chris is in front of the orc. Tom is behind the orc. Jane is behind Tom.

Blood Hermit X Blood good; hermit mechanic broken.
The Seven Trials of Decapitation Refreshing take on artful decapitation.
Sludge Masters Misleading, sludge mastery not required.
Sewer Cannibal Caligula Cannibalize your parents and children.
Funeral Wizard 3: Ascetic Passage Beyond the Sixth Bardo Tight gameplay but little asceticism.
Brain Pilgrim Ascendancy: Star Genocide A shovelware Cooking Mama clone.
Sid Meier's Ancient Slavery Simulator Live in squalor OR opulence.
Manichaean Cyber Ritual 2: Wizard Crucifixion Great soundtrack, wait for patch.
B.I.O. Magician Ooze: Escape From Brain City This is the game, folks ;)

Because it is not the topic discussed.
Yes it is. What are you talking about? Why are you talking about art? Design is a skill and something that's skillfully designed is better than something that isn't. A lot of platformers attempt the exact same thing. What makes some better than others is the skill of the design. VVVVVV is a well designed game. Uhhh. Buhh. Uhhh. Guhh. Art. Uhhh. #42 rule for people w/o TIGS street cred: Silence when angry gents (with or without tophats and/or monocles) are arguing is art games and are games art.
Ahhh. Hmmm. Ah. Ahhh. Hmm. Yes. Ahhh. Yes. Ahhh. Great. Yes. Ahh. Hmmm. Ahhhhhh. Yes. Eat my shit. Hmm.

I don't understand how people can complain about innovation while completely ignoring the craftsmanship of design. Was Dark Souls good because it did new things or because it put together old things very well?
Why do you even care about innovation?
Okay, maybe a better question would be "how do you even qualify innovation?" Like, what is innovative? Fine tuning systems? How much do you have to manipulate numbers before it's innovative?
I mean I'm not playing the devil's advocate or anything but what are you even looking for?

I think we all agree that it looks like a bad game, but you honestly don't think the parallax effect he's achieved is impressive?
I wouldn't go around judging the quality of a game by videos of it in-development. He's judging the quality on the things ulillillia enjoys in games and his previous work. I also don't think he means bad in the sense that it won't be enjoyable, but that it won't be fun in the way that games traditionally are, sort of like how ulillillia's book is enjoyable and fascinating in a way that other books are not.

What is he even using to make his game?
He made his own engine. This is something I've been following for a long time and I've been an admirer of uli's for years. Actually, Platform Masters is really one of the only things I'm looking forward to. It's going to be phenomenally bad but also important and wonderful, and I think uli represents the concept of "indie" more than anyone else. I made two songs for his game a while ago but he didn't like either of them. He told me in a really cool and uli way, though. He briefly mentioned that he didn't think the songs fit the game, and then went on for several paragraphs about how he couldn't tell the difference between violins and trumpets or rock and country. I liked it.

Check
bad boy out.
Are you ready?
Realms of Arkania: Star Trail is the game I compare all other RPGs to. I don't know if it's my favorite, or if I even have a favorite, but it's definitely the quality metric stick for me.

Are there any RPGs on here besides Age of Decadence and Melolune? Has anyone been secretly toiling on an RPG for the past few years without telling anyone? Do they still make RPGs? Does anyone like RPGs? Has anyone ever played an RPG? Does anyone want to make an RPG? Will Square Enix buy my ideas?
