Nice game! i really enjoyed it, but did find a few VERY annoying bugs though:

-after a monster level is increased it only shows up in higher level quests after it's killed. This can create very unpleasant situations, for example:

-you upgrade a level 1 monster to level 4
-the higher level chars wont kill it since it will still show up in level 1 quests
-lower level chars cant kill it and will all die Sad

Apart from that something is wrong with level 24, chars got permanently stuck a few tiles above the stairs.

Owh and the continue option failed Sad it just gives me a runtime error when i press it.

Hope you correct these so we can continue playing!

4  Community / Creative / Re: VENTING! Why do people just disappear - in a two-man project?! on: May 31, 2011, 11:50:21 AM
GAH!

Sorry to abuse this forum, but it's probably something you've experienced yourself.

...

That's allmost as annoying as people who disappear before you even start the project. One time this artist posted he was looking to work on a game so i responded, but after the first pm he went dead silent.. hey wait, wasn't that you?  Beer!

Anyways, in general i think ppl underestimate the ammount of work goin into making a full game. Somewhere along the line they lose intrest and out of shame or simple lazyness stop responding. I think everyone here had this experience, just dont give up and keep looking!

This is a video preview of the game so far, it shows some of the cemetery level and 3 of the 8 planned enemies that will be in the demo Smiley We still have to add a lot of the basics but i hope you like it. Feel free to post any comments!

This is looking rad Smiley

will there be multiple endings? I don't want to kill my brothers. I want to unite with them and become the all-powerful Philosopher's Stone. I want to fulfill my destinyyyyyy.

We're still far from actually putting in the ending  Wink but multiple endings is defenitly on the table.

can't wait to get some feedback on the gameplay  Who, Me?
8  Community / Versus / Re: Sooo... how many of you have ditched the online mode to meet the deadline? on: March 06, 2011, 06:04:23 AM
Well we did it the other way around, i actually started with the network code (using sockets and c#) and when it was working properly i started adding functionality to the game. The deadline did make us drop some features though :\

Pretty cool game! I only tried it by myself so far, but it would be interesting to see how it works when played properly. Also, I love the character select music. Very Morricone-esque.

Thanks! still you should try it with a friend if you're able, it's a lot more fun then shooting yourself.  Smiley

I... completely... didn't get this game... Concerned Maybe it's because the game window was too large for my desktop (I have 1366x768px screen) or maybe because the readme file was from another game.

Oh, wait... does it mean... me no fit?  Beg Me no survive? Cry

... i didn't understand the game either  Embarrassed
11  Community / Versus / Re: Standoff [FINISHED] on: March 03, 2011, 03:11:44 AM
It started but I was unable to play because the host screen said "waiting.." ..." ..."
and the join option requires a host. nice menu ambience and camera scroll. From the screenshots it looks interesting to play. but whats with the mushrooms, quite something,
Big men, big guns and big mushrooms. Who, Me?
I'd be curious to see how other's review

Ah Smiley we should have added more instructions. it's funny, i think a lot of the games over here have this problem: because we tried it out so we forgot to explain the basics :D

it's a network only game, so one 1 person has to run the host and the other person has to connect (for this to work over the internet you need to use hamachi or forward a port on your router)

BUT if you want to check it out solo, you can start the game 2 times. In the first game press host then in the second game press join and connect leaving the default address in (127.0.0.1) This isn't as much fun, but you can atleast see what it's about !!

16  Community / Versus / Re: Battle Mode - バットルモード [FINISHED] on: March 01, 2011, 02:25:21 PM
Nice game! Smiley to bad i don't have anyone to try it out with.. so i ended up playing against myself  Sad I'm curious, what programming language did you use to create it?
17  Community / Versus / Re: standoff on: February 27, 2011, 05:00:32 PM
I'm uploading the game now  Grin when it's finished the game can be downloaded Here

standoff-publish.rar includes a installer
standoff-release.rar is for the people who don't want to install it, for this to work you do need the XNA 4.0 framework redistributable installed, which can be found here!

Important info!!

i used port 1980 tcp for the server, so whoever is hosting the game should have that port open and forwarded in their firewall.
