Sounds pretty awesome -- visual composition stuff aside (sounds pedantic), if people can use what amounts to essentially the same engine to build DS levels then, homebrew ftw.

"Tragic ending for killing everything"  Shocked -TigerSauce Review
A nice twist, indeed. But you know, with all those weapons lying around..

"I've run folding at home for 50 hours a month and have yet to see it ooze medicine"  WTF
Classic. Now, are Tigers going to infilitrate EA's boards to protest the monocle.. ?
24  Player / General / Re: there's a trailer out for that "indie inspired" EA monocle game on: September 16, 2008, 04:08:30 PM
The thing that pisses me off is that they go out of their way to call it "indie-inspired." What the hell does that mean, anyways?
There's just something inflammatory about that one, hyphenated word.
I keep hearing some indie dev named Kyle Gray mentioned, and how this is his game.  I have no idea who he is though, so someone should fill us all in.  Maybe his involvement is why this is "indie-inspired."
I watched a few seconds of the video and Kyle Gray said he prototyped the game then showed it to EA, who then "were cool enough to throw money in our direction". He certainly doesn't *look* like a suit, so I think he (was?) Indie.
Hey, I dislike EA as much as the rest but props to him for getting his game funded and published..

Has anyone read Forever Peace by Joe Haldeman?
In the book the main character's girlfriend is a scientist who tries to publish a paper explaining that the massive particle accelerator built on one of Jupiter's moons will not only "re-create Big Bang conditions" but will recreate the Big Bang.
When she tries to publish her paper she finds that it gets blocked everywhere, because a religious cult called The Hammer of God prevent it from being published because they want to restart the Universe.
Rest of the book is pretty cool btw, some great stuff on human conflict, emotions and the capacity to kill. (And he's the author of The Forever War and Forever Peace too.. read it  Cool)
Anyways, this LHC "big bang conditions" reminds me of that.

I tried Iji yesterday. It's alright, IMO. Upgrading feels annoying.. I have nfi what's best to upgrade or how to tell, and the game seems to taunt you by sayign "Oh no, you can't crack a scout! Oh no, you can't kick the door! Oh no, you can't handle this weapon!"
and I'm 100% sure her brother's an AI and her sister crawls the ventilation shafts, and I'm only on level 3.  WTF
On a positive note, some of the enemy weapons are really cool (The green spammy thing, and those rockets rock).
Lol my first encounter with rocket.. see an enemy charging up so I jump, I thought he was locking on to me. I jumped straight into the rocket path, and about 4 people at work were watching after commenting on "standard gameplay" then everyone was like WOAH.  Smiley

Skipping from page one to 13 makes me feel like I missed a cult/meme indoctrination.
Nevermind, everything is fine.

I'm not saying drawings should be illegal. I'm just saying any kind of kiddie porn is fucking sick and being a drawing doesn't justify it being or change the fact that it is CHILD PORNOGRAPHY.
Except no children were harmed in the production of the "pornography".
Censor actions, not art.

Oh, and I've been playing Iji.. it's alright. Kind of irritating to see all these "You need strength level 4!" "You cannot crack a Tasen scout with your level!". Very number-ish and not so.. fluid? gameplay's alright though, and the rockets are pretty cool.

Pretty certain her brother's an AI and her sister's some sort of drainage/ventilation crawler aka "little sister" :p

lines of some nice minimalist art would be cool,
UPLINK? Or.. why am I so bad at simulated hacking ;_;
Hey, original poster, you should play this game (at least download the demo!)

I remember playing videogames with one of my best friends and his dad when we were kids, and when his dad would kill one of us he would call it "muslimination". I thought it was hilarious. (this was in the USA). Anyways, I wonder if that joke indoctrinated me at all. I don't feel any hatred towards Muslims any more then I do the American Government at Large..
props for making this, just because of the shock value.

Well this was an interesting read. (*cough rule34spam*)
Thanks to (someone) for reminding me to google iji, prompting me to download it. Looking forward to playing it tonight.
I found out about Cave Story, and perhaps the entire "Indie" scene, from a friend e-mailing me a link saying "Hey, here's this 8-bit [ish] game". And I tried, and it was fun.
I don't consider it the holy grail of game development but.. there will really never be such a thing. It's a fun meme  Cave Story in its own right.
(And what is it about those sweeds..  Cool )
p.s. personally I think nethack is the holy grail of game development and no one, not even the sweeds bastardization of airship 2600, will be able to compete. nay, nethack IS airship 2600.. you play as freaking WAR INCARNATE in ASCII!  Evil

Shadow of the Bossus link leads to Ladyboy Love.
The poll was de-made  Cool

Looks absolutely brilliant.
How do I fight?
And have you considered releasing the map editor to the Tigsource public?  Beer!

to me the whole movement is simply about reclaiming public places.
putting a piece of art out there for every piece of poisonous advertising.
bringing balance.
it's beautiful.
Aha, no wonder it is so cathartic.. my eyes have poisoned with insidious messages for years! Muto was absolutely awesome, thanks (ChevyRay? I think posted the link first).
And to the poster about "they took over other graffiti Sad ", well, I think that was part of the theme! Expression(ism), Proliferation, Expansion, Will to Power, Perpetual Growth, and at the end, Homocide! a fantastic work.
35  Community / Bootleg Demakes / Re: Large-Scale Vehicular Stealing[FINISHED] on: September 11, 2008, 07:38:40 PM
After doing a mission, the phone rings then after the text finishes I can't move. IIRC the text was glitchy last time too, showing two messages at once.. I'll give it another go to test for ya  Cool
36  Community / Bootleg Demakes / Re: Large-Scale Vehicular Stealing[FINISHED] on: September 11, 2008, 03:32:16 AM
Sometimes after doing a mission I can't move my character, and the text kinda screws up.
I hope that's not intentional Sad
37  Community / Bootleg Demakes / Re: Large-Scale Vehicular Stealing[FINISHED] on: September 09, 2008, 06:45:23 PM
It's fun! But too hard to play at work in short bursts. Any chance of a saveonquit feature?

Sample theme looks sweet. Like the colors (esp white background.. fits with blank punk). Awesome! I'll challenge myself to write some more punk stories tonight, haven't written fiction in a week or so  WTF
40  Community / Old Competitions / Re: TigSource Writing Competition: ####punk [CLOSED!] on: September 07, 2008, 04:26:34 PM
Not entirely sure how to organize it, but I got bored and created a wikidot site for punk stories. Threw my two ones up there to figure out how I would arrange it. Opinions, of course, would be appreciated.

To join, you need the secret password of TianFup8. I know, its a secret and everything. Not like anyone can just get in and guess that, but oh well, at least we can see if it works.

<3 YAY. WE HAVE US A SITE.
(p.s. *maybe* you should take down the password from the forum and PM it to peeps instead? esp if the wiki links to this site O_o)
