61  Community / DevLogs / One More Round - Turn based top down shooter [Demo] on: December 07, 2018, 09:51:55 AM
One More Round is a turn based top down shooter with randomly generated maps. Currently, the goal of the game is to pass as many of levels as possible.
The game consists of two states, run and shoot, and both of these states last for 5 seconds. So, when the state is set to "Run" you can only move and you can't shoot and vice versa.

Here you can check out gameplay video

I worked on One More Round for 3 weeks, and the core gameplay is mostly done, although I still need to tweak some things here and there and balance the game.
I had time restriction to make this game because it was made for IGMC 2018 game jam, so I'd like to add more content to the game once the game jam ends (at the end of January).

Here's the link so you can try out the game:

I'd really appreciate if you could vote for the game as well.

In terms of content the game currently has 3 types of enemies and 3 themes for the levels, and you can see that on screenshots bellow.

If you have any feedback for the game just let me know, it would help me a lot.

62  Developer / Design / Re: What do you prefer: Graphics VS Gameplay VS Story? on: November 24, 2018, 09:56:29 AM
I prefer gameplay over everything else, I mean games are interactive medium after all. I like when the game lets me interact with its environment in a unique or at least very polished way.
After gameplay, graphics are the most important to me, and I mean greaphics that complement the gamplay and make it easy to understand.
The story really isn't my cup of tea. I don't like to sit through and watch cut scenes in games. Although I believe that every game should give at leas a bit of context to the player, in one form or another.
So my preferences are:
Gameplay > Graphics > Story

Hello everyone!

My name is Aleksandar and I'm a solo indie game developer.
I made my first game at the age of 12 (5 years ago), but I've started to take game development more seriously about a year ago.
I like experimenting with different and unique game ideas, and I'm inspired by games like:
- Nuclear Throne
- Minecraft
- Superhot
- Bad North
- Refunct
- Totally Accurate Battle Simulator
...

I like learning about all different aspects of game development particularly programming, game design, pixel art and low poly 3d modeling.
Here are some amazing youtube channels I like to get back to for advice:
- Game Dev Underground
- Matthew Palaje
- Blackthornprod
- Mark Brown
