There aren't a lot of local game development focused events in this area, so I decided that if I couldn't attend one locally, I would make one! I would really appreciate any support I could get. Even just sharing the link to the event page helps! Thanks for taking the time out to read this.

This has been fixed. The quotes were in an awkward place as well, so I'm not sure as to how that happened! Tongue

Let me know if you have any advice or tips for sponsors - I'm open to both help and suggestions.

UPDATED THE GAME WITH THE LEVEL EDITOR!

Check out the Kickstarter page for more information and the download link!

For those on who'd rather watch me mess around with the game instead of playing it themselves: Level Editor/Gameplay (youtube)

Note: When the Kickstarter ends, and I begin work on the actual game, I'll keep you guys updated in the DevLogs section!

Added actual customization options instead of doing it the unnecessarily annoying way - editing code before every run. Tongue

FIGHTBOYFIGHT: REDUX

fightboyfight: redux is not REALLY about killing zombies. The actual GAME MECHANIC is being able to manipulate the GAME MECHANICS. As you play through the game, you earn experience points that you can spend to gain access to gameplay modifiers that will drastically affect how you play the game. It can be a slow paced zombie crawl OR a fast-action blow-em-to-bits shooter.

There will two main modes of play:
Story Mode: You will play through each scene gaining experience points to apply towards new tools and options.

Scenario Mode: This is where you will be able to design your own custom "Senarios" made up of "Scenes". Each scene can be set up to play completely different from one another, allowing you to create your own perfect arcade experience. Do you just want a single level of unlimited zombie carnage? You got it! Do you want to create a short story told over a series of chapters? You got that too!
13  Community / Jams & Events / Toledo, Ohio Indie Meetup on: February 01, 2012, 11:14:39 AM
Hey guys! I've been wanting to attend the multiple jams around the country, but do to the enormous amount of things going on, I haven't been able to.

I had intended to start an indie game jam of my own over the summer, but due to some unforseen circumstances, and changes in the majors of both myself and my wife, we're going to be moving.

So, instead of dedicating lots of time and effort to trying to find a place that will let us stay there for 24hours straight or longer, I decided that it would probably be best if I just set up some kind of "short time span" meet up.

I was thinking maybe sometime mid-March at a local library, or something to that effect. Leave me some notes as to what dates would be good and any ideas for specific meetup places.
14  Community / Jams & Events / Re: Ohio (Toledo) meet-up anyone? on: August 31, 2011, 04:14:38 AM
We also have another guy, CAMD, who is going to take part too, whenever we set this up.
15  Community / Tutorials / Re: yeah, it's another freaking newbie asking for advice.... on: August 30, 2011, 06:11:10 AM
If you've never made games before, trying to tackle a 3d-project that will have both online multiplayer and cross-platform console support is not going to happen. My best advice is to just either find a programmer, which is also probably not going to happen because most decent programmers like to focus on their own projects, or just start from the basics. It's going to take months, if not years, to be able to learn the basics of any programming language and produce a game of even mediocre quality.
16  Community / Jams & Events / Re: Ohio (Toledo) meet-up anyone? on: August 25, 2011, 06:09:41 AM
I met up with SOC and I've been meeting up with few other people in the area as well. This is highly possible guys, we just need more support.
17  Community / Jams & Events / Re: Ohio (Toledo) meet-up anyone? on: August 24, 2011, 06:03:10 AM
Well, I'm trying to get to know the area around here better before I start organizing anything. It looks like it could be feasible to use space on campus, but a more private area where we would be allowed to work 24 hours straight would be better suited to our cause. I'll spend some time looking in the area, but a just general meet up is definitely possible soon. I'm going to be trying to meet up with SplinterOfChaos sometime soon (maybe today?) and a few other people. If we take time to plan this out and do this right, this could be awesome.
18  Community / Jams & Events / Re: Ohio meet-up anyone? on: August 18, 2011, 03:17:56 PM
Again, sorry for the double posts, but I feel like I'm the only one in my area who wants to do this. Sad

Please SOMEBODY help me make this happen. I didn't want to organize this myself, and if I'm going to it's probably going to have to happen sometime next year, but I want this to happen. I want to hang with like-minded people who have this same hobby/interest/passion. I wanna make games and act stupid with new friends! I know we can do this, Ohioans and other surrounding residents!
19  Community / Jams & Events / Re: Ohio meet-up anyone? on: June 25, 2011, 12:12:30 PM
The UT library sounds perfect. What do you guys think about doing a weekend thing, if you're still interested, I setup my classes already and I have the whole weekend starting from 2PM Friday open every week. But classes don't start until the 22nd, so before that pretty much every day is fine.

I'll post here when I'm finally moved up there.

:D
