Another option, that would keep your latest revision intact, would be including sorting. It is not as lengthy as individual explanations, but is enough to filter the items into categories that help the player remember what does what - offensive, defensive, healing, abilities, whatever

Your sprites look good and I really enjoyed the game (I tried the HTML5 version).

Also I am not sure about the comment to change the bat. Your sprite seems to follow what there movements do in nature, so changing it would be for aesthetic reasons.

this is technically from one of the movies but

has one piece been mentioned yet
the animation in the series is sexy af too

haha i knew you'd link that movie when you talked about beautiful animation in one piece
i havent watched much of the anime but the manga is the only "battle shonen" manga worth reading
amazing plot and characters and design and art and TEARJERKING

the rest of shonen mangas is just HEH NO

I fully agree on the One Piece manga. Its actually the only 'comic' of any kind I read on a regular basis. Oda's art and storytelling have continued to get better and better over the years.

As far as the anime I don't really care for it. It doesn't seem to come across as well as the manga. And the clip you linked is from one of the movies. The quality between the show and movies is quite different - and I think the studio behind the one in your clip is Studio 4°C who also did Tekkon Kinkreet.

Hmmm... could the area on top be used?

Say nothing is selected it shows the character info and states, but when you select in item it shows the description there? And where your character icon is you could have a larger animated icon for the item?

Hmmm. Just thinking out loud. Directly at you.

It would be cool if the areas / boxes / islands scattered to different formations depending on the area of the menu you were in.

redline is fucking awesome

Okay I came to this thread specifically to remember this name. Nice!!

Size/space solutions:
1. Give items descriptive names such as "Health Potion" or "Poison Cure" instead of "Potion".
2. Use existing in-game icons: If "Potion" fills your heart meter, show a looping heart meter filling up, or a heart with a "+" next to it.

These sound much better for the solution. Seems like you have room to revise the titles a little. Also if they were animating it would look good in your style.

I kept seeing these pop up in devlogs I'm watching and wondered if there was a place to see all your fantastic POST-ITs.  It's nice to know this thread exists.

Suddenly I find myself subscribed to two or three times the number of devlogs.  Awesome!

I'm a little sad that The Salvage hasn't been updated in so long 'cause I'd love to see that in your style.

Scut Fabulous' The Salvage

Well now you have to continue development.

Yeah, he's right.

Another option could be some kind of sliding mechanism. When you click the item name the info slide from under it pushing the other items down. I guess like a drawer? then you won't have the pop overs.
