we're still working on finding a kickass place to be, but some of my leads are looking pretty good so far.

I've had a ton of requests for tutorials on how to make games in flash, and the most I've seen promote completely horrible coding practices. So I wrote some of my own.

They're all based on using free tools (some of which are windows only) so it's easy to follow along.

I've got parts six and seven all typed up and ready to go, but suggestions for coming parts are very much appreciated. Also, if you find any inconsistencies I'd be happy to have them pointed out to me.

If you store the class in the array in one place as such:

levelArray.push(MyLevelClass);

The class will be included in your swf since it is mentioned in the code. If you reference it using a string it wont be, so make sure it's a reference to the class.

To instantiate from this later you do like so:

Damn. I really should write a few tutorials about this, there seems to be a big demand for them but no real resource that delivers more than a quick overview.
I will consider it.

This new "direct" mode is damn fast. Really nice for games, but the player is a bit dodgy when you're running it. I've been crashing mine aplenty when trying to do some development with it. Also, not getting runtime errors is rather annoying, but that'll be resolved once they release a debug player.

Has anyone managed to get any Pixel Bender filters running?
I can get them in and I *think* they run, but all I get is white.

I'm setting up my compiler now, let's see what this baby can do.

(btw, it also has typed arrays which is really nice!)
