This is a little script I made and am using for development. It uses
Python 2.6 and
web.py.
When you run it and connect to 127.0.0.1:8080, it looks like this:
Needless to say, you will have to customize everything to run in your environment. There are two data fields in webui.py, which are easy to configure.

Because it's easy to extend HTML to serve images, create forms, etc., you can use browser extensions and plugins to supplement HTML, and the compatibility can't be beat.
Will it run on OSX/Linux?
I wrote it for a Windows environment, but there is nothing stopping the basic UI from working, you'll just need to adapt shell scripts for those environments.
Why would I want this?
I was getting tired of having 100 different windows open and getting lost in them. This has cleaned up the mess substantially.
