I think you'd solve a lot of problems if you used collisions less and instead just checked if the position the bird was moving to was free. If you need help with the GML drop me a PM or AIM or somesuch, maybe I can at least explain the code you don't understand.

Well, I finally implemented something that works. It doesn't use solid, so I'll have less problems.

Now I have to rework EVERY LITTLE THING in my game to match the new engine.

Seeing as this is about to drop off the end of the first page, I will post some ideas I've had on multiplayer interaction.

*Bumping: Dash into a player, and you can bump them, knocking them backwards. If the player is in the air, they'll be hit even farther.

*Jumping: Land on your ex-buddy's head to knock coins out of them.

*Distract: One person can act as a decoy while the other takes out an enemy.

*Strength: Some blocks can only be lifted by two people together.

Thanks Wink
Implementing lighting, for a break from collisions.

Just made some torches using a lighting example, and boy, do they look good.

 Grin

Edit: Is the lighting around it, the darkness, too dark? Or too light? I'm not meaning the torches to be the only way of seeing, it's more of an environmental thing.

 Facepalm
Turns out more than one torch overlaps alphas, so if I have a certain amount, the screen is completely black...

I think I might have a work-around though...

Broken link?!

Doesn't seem broken to me.... Hm.

Anyway, I updated the first post. Tell me if the link is still broken.

Progress: (or rather, lack of it)
*Implemented a slimy cannon that spits fireballs upwards.
*Updated Archer AI to fit with the new physics
*Started working on level 1.

Not much else....
What can I say, I discovered IRC. Shrug
Instant productivity killer.

Once I finish level 1, I'll release a new build with the new collisions engine.

Well, I've failed. Sad
I'm just tired of this, I can't get anything good working, and it doesn't feel fun. I might continue development after the competition, but right now I'm sick of making this.
 Sad

Good luck to me on my next project.
